Ask Motorhead

Can-Am Outlander 1000 XT or Yamaha Grizzly 700?

Dear Motorhead:

I've seen both of your videos for the Yamaha Grizzly 700 and the Can-Am Outlander 1000 XT and can't decide which one to pick.

I am looking forward on buying one soon, but just can't decide. Could you please tell me what you think?

Thank you,

Amir

Amir:

Thanks for your email!

The two ATVs you are comparing are not really that comparable. Here's why - the Grizzly is a great big bore sport ute but can in no way be compared to the 1000 Outlander XT.

The Outlander is the most outrageously powerful, fast and incredibly torquey ATV in the industry. Its 1000cc V-Twin engine has no competition in this biz right now. As well, the Can-Am XT package includes a ton of stuff factory installed which Yamaha does not offer (factory installed).

Finally, I suspect the MSRP variance between these two ATV's is substantial. In it's own right and price range the Grizzly is a strong competitor - maybe better compared to a Can-Am 650 Outlander.

Hope this helps,

Motorhead Mark
