At DIRT TRAX, we love everything about powersports—adventure, adrenaline, freedom—but we also know the ride means nothing if safety isn’t part of the journey.
That’s why we’re proud to shine a light on the RideSafe Foundation, a non-profit organization making waves across North America with one mission: to reduce powersport injuries and fatalities through gear, training, and certification.
The numbers speak volumes. 98% of ATV-related fatalities involve riders not wearing helmets. 95% had no safety certification. Despite growing interest in powersports recreation, too many riders are skipping the fundamentals and the consequences are real. During the pandemic, child ATV-related accidents rose by 34%, even while the national child mortality rate dropped by 9%. We can’t ignore those stats.
RideSafe is stepping up in a big way, especially with its recent partnership with BRP as part of the Responsible Rider Program. Together, they’re working to inspire a new generation of responsible riders—encouraging proper gear, safety education, and respect for the environment.
Powersports professionals already understand the culture of safety—the helmet, gloves, boots, and training are second nature. But we need to pass that mindset on to all riders, new and experienced alike. Whether you’re on an ATV, UTV, snowmobile, or watercraft, the message is the same: Ride ready. Ride smart. Ride safe.
Normalizing safety conversations is just as important as the machines we test. So, gear up, get trained, and join RideSafe in helping make sure that every ride ends safely.
