We have two big side-x-side projects in the works on DIRT TRAX this season and both will involve a serious upgrade from the stock suspension. For each, we’ve chosen 46mm Elka Stage 4 shocks to dramatically improve these machines’ performance.
While factory shocks are designed to provide a compromise between comfort, capability and cost, Elka’s Stage 4 system offers a much greater level of tuning and performance offering users control of low-speed compression, rebound damping and a threaded collar to manage spring preload.
The 46mm shock bodies are constructed from aeronautical-grade billet aluminum for ultra light weight and maximum durability and feature a double dust wiper to further prevent debris for entering the shock. They also provide increased oil capacity and flow, helping deliver consistent, predictable damping as the suspension works harder over rough terrain.
