Suzuki 50 Years Of Racing Commemorative Stickers

Suzuki Motor Corporation is celebrating 50 years of international racing this year, and to commemorate this milestone American Suzuki Motor Corp. is printing five collectable cloth stickers, one for each racing discipline of Superbike, ATV, Off-Road and Motocross plus a special gold anniversary sticker.

The celebration kicks off this weekend with the release of a limited number of special gold commemorative 50th Anniversary stickers. These special stickers will be handed out at the Suzuki display at Laguna Seca Superbike event and at the Washougal Motocross pits. This special gold sticker will continue to be distributed at select events throughout the summer.

The next release will be a limited-edition Road Racing sticker honoring Suzuki’s long list of American champion riders and motorcycles. This sticker will be distributed at the VIR round of AMA Superbike Series in Alton, Va. in mid-August.

Also in August, Suzuki will release a commemorative sticker that honors Suzuki’s successful ATV racing history. The sticker will be distributed at the final round of the AMA Pro ATV MX series at Loretta Lynn’s Ranch in Hurricane Mills, Tenn.

Motocross Racing is highlighted with the September release of the fourth limited-edition sticker. Suzuki has a long and storied history of winning races with their revolutionary stable of dirt bikes. This limited-edition sticker will be available at the Pala Raceway for the final round of the 2010 Lucas Oil Outdoor MX Series.

October honors off-road racing at its finest, with the tough and wooded racecourses that really put machines to the test. Suzuki has done well in the woods with both their dirt bikes and ATVs. Look for this release at the final Ironman round of the 2010 GNCC series.

Suzuki has had an incredible history of racing throughout the world and in the United States. These special commemorative racing stickers are a way of highlighting those achievements and celebrating the success of the riders and the machines.

MOOSE XCR JERSEY

0

Whether you’re a racer, a wannabee or just like looking great on the trails, Moose Racing has a beautiful jersey that offers style, protection and comfort all rolled into one sweet looking package.

The 2010 Moose XCR Jersey is constructed of two types of semi-ventilated polyester. It feels more comfortable against your skin than some other jerseys on the market and gives the impression of a higher quality garment.

Its custom lycra collar doesn’t pull beard hairs or irritate your neck allowing you to keep both mitts on the handlebars instead of struggling to adjust your neckline.

A tac-grip silicone logo on the longer back of the jersey helps to keep jersey tucked in if you’re a tucker. However, if left untucked this jersey looks equally stylish.

Padded elbows offer just enough cushion to protect from mild bumps, but may not prevent severe injury. They are however non-intrusive and allow a wide range of arm movement without feeling cumbersome.

The Moose XCR Jersey is available in a wide range of sizes and a variety of head-turning colors.

Rockstar Makita Suzuki Victorious at Unadilla

Round nine of the AMA ATV Motocross Championship at Unadilla, New York, proved to be another great weekend of racing for the Rockstar Makita Suzuki ATV team.

Utilizing their race-proven QuadRacer R450s, points-leader Josh Creamer added another win to his already impressive season, while defending champion Dustin Wimmer logged another consistent second-place finish.

“I couldn’t ask for anything more from my quad or my team,” Creamer said. “I just want to keep this momentum going and finish off the season on top!”

The weekend started in excellent fashion for Wimmer. The two-time series champion won the fastest qualifier award and looked poised for a great result.

When the gates fell on the first moto, Wimmer had a second-place start while Creamer was just a few spots back. As the race wore on, Wimmer continued to chase after the leader while Creamer moved into the third spot. However, time had run out for Wimmer and Creamer, who would cross the line in second and third, respectively.

The start of moto two saw both of the Rockstar Makita Suzukis in the top five by the end of the first lap. This time, however, it was Creamer in second.

As Creamer embarked on a race-long battle for the lead, Wimmer was battling for fourth on the notoriously rough track. Creamer and the QuadRacer R450 were able to power into the lead and hold on to the finish, while Wimmer kept it consistent, finishing in fourth.

For Creamer, the 3-1 moto scores were enough to give him his sixth overall victory of the year, while Wimmer’s 2-4 moto scores gave him second, putting the Suzuki QuadRacer R450 in the top two spots of the podium.

“The QuadRacer R450 worked out really well and overall it handled good throughout the track!” said Wimmer. “I got two good holeshots and the first race went pretty well. I came out second, but couldn’t make up any ground and stayed there the whole moto. In the second moto, I ended up fourth. It was pretty hard to pass and the track was rough, but overall, the race went well.”

“It was a great race,” said Yoshimura R&D of AmericaÂ’s Marketing Manager Kory Ellis, who overseas the team. “Josh and Dustin both got on the podium, the QuadRacer R450 continued to work great, and with two races left in the season, hopefully we will have the championship wrapped up by the next round!”

Creamer leads Wimmer in the championship points by 30 points as the series heads into Buchanan, Michigan for Round 10 of the AMA ATV Motocross Championship at the famed Red Bud MX track.

RIDE REVIEW: Can-Am Outlander Max XT-P

Power Corrupts… Again!

There’s nothing like the sheer ridiculous power of a Rotax V-Twin rumbling under the seat. Aboard the Can-Am Outlander Max XT-P, you start to forget youÂ’re riding a 2-up ATV and turn all your attention to holding on tight while the pistons fire at each rotation of the crank.

This 800cc engine produces serious power and we mean it. Squeeze the trigger down a fire road and prepare for its arm-stretching jam to launch you to grin-inducing speeds.

One of the highlights of the Max is that it doesn’t feel bulky. You’re not left with the impression youÂ’ve had to sacrifice something to have the option of carrying a second passenger.

The OL’s natural seating position nestles your butt right in front of the raised passenger seat and you don’t find yourself wriggling or adjusting to find a more comfortable spot.

For an average-sized rider, it’s as close to perfect as youÂ’ll get. Just sit down, shut up and go. Standing feels equally natural. Handlebar height is spot-on for the average rider and all switchgear is accessible without distracting you from whatÂ’s up ahead.

Dynamic Power Steering eliminates just about any trail interference that isn’t soaked up by the suspension. Its user-selectable progressive dual mode allows you to choose between a minimum and maximum setting.

Our riders have found the max setting to be just a bit over the top, producing a nervous feeling through tight trail sections. The minimum setting is just about right and since it is progressive, the faster you go, the less assistance the power steering delivers. In this mode there’s still plenty of positive feedback through the handlebars so the rider can react quickly to any kind of trail chatter.

With so much power available at the flick of your thumb, stopping power should be equally impressive. A tempered squeeze of Can-Am’s single lever brake produces ample stoppage.

If you’ve done your homework, you’ve likely noticed that Can-Am’s Renegade features a dual lever hand brake system. We’ve found this system to be excellent and for anyone more comfortable with a dual-lever set-up, it leaves some of us wondering why Can-Am hasn’t implemented this same system across the board, particularly on the higher output Outlanders.

Since the 800 XT-PÂ’s release, Can-Am has had a stranglehold on horsepower with clean, even power delivery all the way along the curve. It seems that each model year this engine sets the bar for everyone else to reach for.
