For 2027, two new purpose-built additions expand the TERYX KRX 1000 lineup’s capabilities for riding in wooded terrain. Introducing the TERYX KRX 1000 TR and TERYX KRX4 1000 TR side x sides— designed to deliver comfort and confidence for riders exploring tight 64-inch forest trails.

Compared to the standard TERYX KRX 1000 and TERYX KRX4 1000 models, the TR versions feature a narrower overall width, making them ideal for dense wooded areas. This slimmer stance helps drivers maneuver smoothly between narrow trails. But the TR models are more than just narrower versions of their base counterparts. The front and rear suspension arm mounting angles have been carefully refined to maintain the same generous ground clearance as the TERYX KRX 1000 and TERYX KRX4 1000. With long wheel travel—17 inches up front and 18 inches in the rear—and large 31-inch Maxxis Carnivore tires, the TR models retain the exceptional off-road capability the TERYX KRX 1000 lineup is known for. Suspension tuning with softer damping characteristics and improved ground-following performance delivers a comfortable ride at the low to moderate speeds typical of trail riding, while the stable cornering performance carried over from the standard models helps build rider confidence.

Built for tight 64-inch trail riding, these models carry forward the capability, confidence, and comfort that define the TERYX KRX 1000 and TERYX KRX4 1000. The parallel-twin engine, with strong low-end torque, works with the CVT and centrifugal clutch to provide smooth, controlled power delivery at lower speeds, along with dependable engine braking on descents. At the same time, the roomy cabin and adjustable ergonomics found in the standard models ensure a high level of comfort, even on narrow trails.

Trail-Ready Stance for Woodland Navigation

The most defining feature of the TERYX KRX 1000 TR and TERYX KRX4 1000 TR models is their narrower trail-ready stance. While preserving the off-road capability and comfort of the standard TERYX KRX 1000 and TERYX KRX4 1000, this reduced width allows the TR models to move through tighter wooded trails with greater ease and control.

Overall width has been reduced from 68.1 inches on the standard models to 63.8 inches on the TR versions. The narrower tread and slightly tighter turning radius further enhance maneuverability, allowing the vehicles to initiate turns more quickly and deliver more responsive handling at lower speeds. This translates to improved precision and confidence when navigating tight, technical trails.

To achieve this slimmer profile, both front and rear suspension components were revised. Up front, the A-arms are shorter than those on the standard models, and their more upright mounting angles help maintain the same generous ground clearance. Despite these changes, the core frame and chassis design remain unchanged, preserving the stable and well-balanced feel of the platform.

At the rear, the upper and lower control arms are also shorter, working in conjunction with the revised front suspension to create a narrower stance and improve capability in confined environments. The trailing arms, however, retain the same dimensions and mounting positions as the standard models, ensuring consistent durability and performance.

Suspension Tuned for Comfort

The TR models are equipped with the same Showa 2.5 piggyback shock units as the standard models, but the suspension tuning has been revised to prioritize comfort in the low- to mid-speed range commonly used on tight wooded trails. This refined setup improves ground-following performance while reducing vibration and harsh impacts, resulting in a smoother, more controlled, and less fatiguing ride.

The softer damping characteristics allow the suspension to better absorb smaller, frequent trail irregularities. This contributes to a noticeably more comfortable driving experience, especially when navigating uneven forest terrain. It also helps each tire maintain more consistent contact with the ground over surfaces such as packed dirt, loose gravel, and branches, improving overall traction and stability. This added stability supports more precise throttle control when tackling technical sections. The rear suspension features increased compression damping to enhance chassis stability as speeds rise—such as when transitioning from narrow wooded trails to wider, more open sections.

Even with the shorter suspension arms required for the narrower stance, the TR models retain ample wheel travel. This ensures strong impact absorption over bumps and obstacles typically encountered in wooded environments, preserving the high level of off-road performance expected from the TERYX KRX 1000 lineup even in tighter terrain.
Wheels Suited for Trail Driving

Both the two-door and four-door TR models feature lightweight 15-inch aluminum wheels, optimized for trail-focused riding.

Bodywork Optimized for Narrow Stance

Careful attention was given to reshaping affected bodywork to maintain the strong, tough, and refined styling of the standard TERYX KRX 1000 / TERYX KRX4 1000 with its narrower stance. The front cover was redesigned to ensure clearance for the full suspension stroke of the shortened front A-arms while still preserving the sharp, rugged look characteristic of the TERYX KRX 1000 Series. In the rear, the fender flares were made as slim as possible so they remain within the outer edge of the tires, which still sit at the vehicle’s four corners despite the reduced width, thereby maintaining the series’ strong and aggressive styling identity.

While sharing the same colors and graphics as the base TERYX KRX 1000 / TERYX KRX4 1000, the TR models feature badging that includes the “TR” logo as proof that they are models specialized for woodland trails.
