DiamondBack Truck Bed Covers

0

If you’re a fan of the show, you know we expect a lot from our truck and one of the ways we maximize its use is with a Diamondback truck bed cover.

Not only does it act as the best means of transporting our fleet of ATVs and Side-x-Sides atop the truck bed but also acts as the Fort Knox of truck covers thanks to a newly designed deadbolt style locking mechanism mated to the 3/8-inch rods that extend under the all aluminum bed cover, securely held in place under the truck beds top rolled lip.

Versatility and confidence are probably the two most common words out of the mouths of Diamondback owners when describing what they like best about it. Whether you’re side-loading two ATVs or transporting a smaller Side-x-Side, the ability to free up your truck bed for gear and also tow a camper makes for the ultimate weekend adventure.

It is examples like this that have made Diamondback Covers the perfect choice for avid sportsmen, outdoor enthusiasts and even weekend project warriors.

In fact, when play does turn to work your DiamondBack truck cover goes the extra mile with up to a 1600-pound load capacity with the HD covers and newly designed tie-down cleats offering 1200-pounds of tensile strength. You can be sure the load you are transporting will be secure and within the limits of the law.

Diamondback Covers are built in the USA, come with a lifetime warranty and when you order online you are guaranteed free shipping.

0

Yamaha Motor Corp., USA, announces pricing and retail availability of the new 2019 YXZ1000R and YXZ1000R Sport Shift (SS) pure sport Side-by-Side (SxS) vehicles. The new 2019 models introduced in June are now coming off the Yamaha assembly line in Newnan, Georgia, and shipping to dealers nationwide.

Updated for 2019 to deliver the ultimate high-performance off-road adventure on a wide variety of terrain – from open deserts and dunes, to muddy trails and rough, rocky terrain – the base model available in Graphite with cast aluminum wheels starts at $18,999 MSRP for both the full-manual and Sport Shift models. Special Edition (SE) versions are available in Team Yamaha Blue with color matched interior and true bead-lock wheels, starting at a $20,599 MSRP for standard and SS models. The other Special Edition YXZ1000R SS available in Ultra White features a suntop, true bead-lock wheels, accessory lights and more starting at $21,799 MSRP.

“The new YXZ1000R is still the only true pure sport Side-by-Side in the industry, designed by Yamaha for drivers wanting an ultimate, direct-connection to the machine whether they’re navigating tight wooded trails or roaming open desert,” said Steve Nessl, Yamaha’s ATV/SxS group marketing manager. “The new 2019 models have been redesigned for any environment across the country, and are arriving now in dealers – available just in time for fall trail adventures and the upcoming dune season.”

For those who require even more punch, the Genuine Yamaha Technology Racing (GYTR) turbo kit designed specifically for the 2019 YXZ line installs quicker and easier due to the added GYTR connecting rods now coming standard in the engine. The GYTR Turbo kit uses the renowned Garrett GT2860RS turbo to meet Yamaha’s high-standards of durability, reliability and performance, while also being the only turbo in the industry that is CARB, EPA, and 50-state compliant for 2016-2018 model year YXZs, with 2019s soon to follow.

The YXZ1000R is powered by Yamaha’s industry-first 998-cc triple-cylinder engine, and an enhanced five-speed manual transmission delivering the industry’s only direct-connection SxS driving experience.

New for 2019:

– Lowered gearing with a tighter first gear, ideal for technical riding and sharper torque right off the bottom.
– GYTR connecting rods, making it easier, faster, and less expensive to install the GYTR turbo kit designed specifically for the YXZ.
– Enhanced new body styling and design with class-leading driver visibility.
– Reconfigured, larger radiator moved behind the seats, eliminating excess heat within the cabin and further enhancing the occupants’ comfort, while simultaneously reducing the risk of clogging the radiator.
– New suspension settings, larger all-wheel disc brakes, wheels, and larger 29-inch Maxxis® Bighorn® tires.
– Increased accessory integration including wiring for the all-new Yamaha Adventure Pro GPS powered by Magellan.

Can-Am off-road Teams Rule The Americas With Endurance Racing Wins

0

– Can-Am Maverick X3 pilots notch wins in Nevada, Iowa, Louisiana and Brazil
– XPS athletes Kyle Chaney and Phil Blurton keep on winning

VALCOURT, QUEBEC, CANADA, August 21, 2018 – Can-Am off-road racing teams earned numerous victories and class podiums this past weekend in both North America and South America, affirming Can-Am as the brand of choice for overcoming long-distance and endurance events.

In the United States, Can-Am / XPS Lubricants drivers Phil Blurton and Kyle Chaney outlasted stiff competition and overwhelming conditions to record overall endurance racing wins in Nevada and Iowa, respectively, with their Maverick X3 Turbo R side-by-side vehicles. At the 2018 Rally dos Sertões in Brazil, which wraps up Friday, Aug. 25, Can-Am racers own the top eight spots in the standings after three stages of action.

Blurton Repeats As BITD Vegas To Reno Champion
Phil Blurton (Can-Am / XPS / No Limit RD) and co-pilot Beau Judge won the Pro UTV Turbo class and UTV overall with the No. 944 Can-Am Maverick X3 side-by-side vehicle at the 2018 BITD Vegas To Reno race. On paper, the back-to-back Vegas-To-Reno wins is outstanding in its own right, but when you factor in the number of competitors, brutal terrain, the race length and the fact that Blurton had to come from nearly 39th place in the class to finish in front of everyone was incredible. A 30-minute delay almost cost Blurton and Judge a chance at a win, but they rallied hard all the way to checkers and were rewarded with victory and the overall class points lead in the BITD series.

“So proud of the hard work of our No Limit RD Race Team and support crew,” stated Blurton. “They are the most dedicated team and we could not accomplish such greatness without them and the support of our sponsors.”

Can-Am had two teams on the box in Nevada, as Dustin Jones and co-pilot Dustin Henderson drove the No. 978 Can-Am / S3 Racing Maverick X3 MAX Turbo R side-by-side to a strong third-place finish. The UTV Unlimited class win was secured by Utah’s Michael Isom (Can-Am / Mobbin’ Racing) in another Maverick X3 MAX Turbo R build. Racer Pam Hall won the UTV Sportsman class (stock) in her Can-Am.

Don Higbee (Can-Am / Driven Powersports) piloted his Can-Am Outlander 4×4 ATV to a third-place finish in the ATV Pro class against a field of sport quads. Higbee, who ended the BITD season in third place, and co-pilots Jose Torres and Adolfo Arellano posted a time of 10:39 to set an event record for a 4x4ATV.

Chaney Untouchable At Heartland Challenge
Kyle Chaney (Can-Am / XPS / CT Race Worx) put his Maverick X3 side-by-side vehicle in the winner’s circle at the 2018 Heartland Challenge in Carlisle, Iowa.

The Heartland Challenge, a difficult day-night, four-hour endurance race with a mix of short-course, cross-country and endurocross, forces man and machine to be ready for almost anything. Chaney, coming off a Lucas Oil Midwest Short Course Series win the weekend prior, had a little momentum on his side. Chaney, co-pilot Josh Martell, and their XPS-themed Can-Am Maverick X3 side-by-side vehicle proved up to the task. They took the lead about a mile from the start and then led the rest of the way. It was Chaney’s second consecutive Heartland Challenge UTV race win. Can-Am racers also won the 900 class (non-turbo), posting a podium sweep, in Iowa.

Brezina Grabs LACC Victory
Can-Am / S3 Powersports racer Logan Brezina put the hurt on the competition in Louisiana, winning the A class and side-by-side overall at Round 7 of the LACC series in Wilson, La.

“It was an awesome weekend for S3 Racing — podiums everywhere. I was fortunate enough to bring home the win yesterday,” said Brezina. “My Can-Am Maverick X3 side-by-side vehicle was absolutely on rails.”

Maverick X3 Racers at Rally dos Sertões in Brazil
Rally racing with the Can-Am Maverick X3 Turbo R vehicle has grown tremendously since its global introduction two years ago. South America hosts several rally events and is currently holding the prestigious 26th Rally dos Sertões, Aug. 18-25, in Brazil. Can-Am Maverick X3 side-by-side vehicle racers have won the first three stages and own the top eight spots in the standings.

Can-Am / Varela Rally Team driver Reinaldo Varela and co-pilot Gustavo Gugelmin, winners of the 2018 Dakar Rally, have the early lead after winning stage 1 and keeping their advantage through stage 3 in South America. The No. 203 Maverick X3 side-by-side, driven by Enrico Amarante and Breno Rezende is currently second overall.

All seven stages of the Sertões Rally equal roughly 3,601 kilometers (more than 2,200 miles). The champions for all classes will be determined by Aug. 25 in Fortaleza.

Minneapolis (August 20, 2018) – Coming off a commanding performance at the 50th BFGoodrich Tires SCORE Baja 500, Polaris RZR® Factory Racing continued its success this weekend at the longest off-road race in the U.S., Vegas to Reno. Jacob Carver finished 2nd in the Pro UTV Turbo Class and 15-year-old Seth Quintero took 2nd in his first-ever Vegas to Reno Pro UTV NA class followed closely by Kaden Wells.

The Polaris RZR® Factory Racing team battled through the dust, silt, and ever-changing conditions of the Nevada desert this weekend competing in the longest off road race in the U.S. Following a nearly three month break from the 50th BFGoodrich Tires SCORE Baja 500, the team came back fully prepared to take on the nasty terrain long into the night. After traversing 535 miles, the dust settled for the Turbo Class and 1st and 2nd place were separated by less than two minutes.

“The Polaris RZR® Factory Racing team has proven itself through a wide variety of side-by-side race formats this season, so to have them push through the long and arduous course that requires incredible endurance and determination is nothing short of spectacular,” said Matt Boone, RZR and GENERAL marketing director at Polaris.

This weekend’s race builds on an unparalleled 2018 season stacked with incredible performances from the team, which includes top podium finishes at every major race to date. The team has amassed 31 wins and 85 podiums over the course of the 2018 season.

The Polaris RZR Factory Racing team is gearing up to take on the field at the SCORE Tijuana Desert Challenge on September 22 followed by the BITD Laughlin Desert Classic on October 13.

Wienen Wins Sixth ATV MX Racing Title Aboard Yamaha’s YFZ450R

0

KENNESAW, Ga. – August 15, 2018 – Yamaha Racing topped the podium this past weekend at Loretta Lynn’s Ranch in Hurricane Mills, Tennessee, as Chad Wienen recaptured his AMA Pro ATV MX title to claim his sixth career championship, and Thomas Brown took third overall in the series, both on Yamaha’s YFZ450R – the most technologically advanced Proven Off-Road sport ATV in the market. Wienen is only the second among all-time ATV motocross racers to earn six championships, solidifying his position as the most successful ATV racer of the 21st century.

Wienen bested the competition with Yamaha’s race-proven, Assembled-in-USA, YFZ450R sport ATV, earning himself the $10,000 bLU cRU championship bonus. He was the only Pro ATV MX racer this season to finish every moto race no lower than fourth, and was only one of two racers to finish on the podium in every round. Thanks to the unmatched consistency and performance of the YFZ450R, Wienen has finished 71 consecutive races on the podium.

“It feels incredible to be back on top, and to continue making history along my team at Yamaha and Wienen Motorsports,” Wienen said. “The YFZ450R proved itself yet again thanks to its dominating reliability that played a vital role in helping me overcome the competition and securing my sixth championship.”

Thomas Brown also found success on his TBrown 84 Training / CST Tires YFZ450R this year, finishing third-overall with 326 points, marking his fifth podium season in his Pro ATV MX career. He finished third or higher five times this season, and was one of only three racers with a first place finish, which he earned at RedBud in Buchanan, Michigan.

“All of us at Yamaha are proud to work with Chad and Thomas as they continue to make history for both ATV MX and Yamaha Racing,” said Donnie Luce, Yamaha’s off-road racing coordinator. “For nearly a decade, both of these racers have been a thrill to watch, and have found continuous success while paired with the consistency and reliability of the YFZ450R.”

In cross country ATV racing, Yamaha factory-supported racer and three-time GNCC Pro-class champion Walker Fowler continues to chase his fourth-straight XC1 Pro ATV championship, and the $10,000 bLU cRU championship bonus on his WFR / GBC Yamaha YFZ450R. With 226 points and five first-place finishes, Fowler leads with 34 points after nine rounds in the 13-round series.

On the national Side-by-Side (SxS) circuit, Yamaha factory-supported racer Brock Heger leads the Lucas Oil Off- Road Racing Series’ (LOORRS) Production 1000 UTV class in his Maxxis / JM2 / Weller Yamaha YXZ1000R. In the first six rounds, Heger has amassed an impressive 47-point lead, and is the only racer to finish on the podium in every race, including four first-place finishes. Trailing in second is bLU cRU racer, Jason Weller, with 270 points and three podium-finishes in his Weller Racing YXZ1000R. The YXZ racer that comes out on top in the second half of the season will win the $15,000 bLU cRU championship bonus.

The Lucas Oil Midwest Short Course League’s Pro Stock UTV series has been dominated by Yamaha racers, with Snow Dogg Snowplows Ryan Mulder leading with 258 points and Dialed In Racing’s Jesse Klaus following with 243 points aboard the YXZ1000R. Rounding out the podium is Yamaha’s factory-supported racer and last year’s TORC Series Pro Stock UTV champion CJ Greaves of Greaves Motorsports / Mutant Super Soda with 229 points and two first-place finishes on the series. The three will battle it out for the championship and the $15,000 bLU cRU bonus on August 31 and September 1 at Crandon International Raceway in Wisconsin. Additionally vying for a Pro Mod SxS title in the Midwest series in a Powersports 1 prepared YXZ1000R is Rodney Van Eperen, who currently leads the class with four second-place, and one first-place finish.

In the Lucas Oil Regional Off-Road Series (LORORS), Paul O’Brien made a strong start in Arizona, capturing three- straight wins and a 36-point lead in the opening rounds with his Weller Racing YXZ1000R SS (Sport Shift). In the Southern California (SoCal) LORORS series, bLU cRU racer Jason Weller is third overall with 274 points in six rounds in his Weller Racing YXZ1000R. Should a bLU cRU racer finish first in either series with their YXZ, they’ll walk away with Yamaha’s $5,000 bLU cRU championship bonus.

Eligible racers can register or view more information on the bLU cRU program, including all guidelines and requirements for ATV and SxS racing at www.YamahabLUcRU.com. New Alterra 570 Headlines Textron Off Road’s 2019 ATV Model Lineup

0

AUGUSTA, GA — Textron Specialized Vehicles Inc., a Textron Inc. (NYSE: TXT) company, announced new Textron Off Road ATVs for the 2019 model year, led by the new Alterra™ 570 ATV. The 2019 lineup also includes an updated Alterra 700 line powered by the new Textron Motors 700 engine for greater power and performance.

“We are committed to growing our Textron Off Road lineup of powerful, precision-engineered ATVs,” said John Collins, Vice President, Consumer for Textron Specialized Vehicles. “These new vehicles, led by our new Alterra 570 ATV, include several features that provide operators with more power, a more comfortable ride, and the performance to take on tough trails and get a hard day’s work done well.”

Alterra 570
New for 2019, the new Textron Off Road Alterra 570 ATV lineup introduces three new machines — Alterra 570, 570 EPS and 570 XT — into the 500 class that is the heart of the ATV sector. Perfect for trail riding, farm work and everything in-between, the vehicles are similar to their higher-powered family member, the Alterra 700, offering the same attractive styling and class-leading suspension travel.

Powering the Alterra 570 models is a 545cc, single-cylinder, closed-loop EFI engine that offers plenty of power to cruise down the trails and get tough jobs done. The Alterra 570’s class-leading 10 inches of front and rear suspension travel, 11 inches of ground clearance, and five-position adjustable front and rear springs provide exceptional ride quality, comfort and ergonomics.

Operators also will appreciate the Rapid Traction System (RTS) on the 570 Base and EPS models, and the Electronic Locking 4WD (EL4) on the 570 XT model. Located on the right handlebar for easy use, the RTS and EL4 technologies enable the rider to activate 4WD while the vehicle is in motion. The systems enable operators to easily switch from 2WD to 4WD while keeping both hands on the handlebars. In addition, the XT model’s EL4 system is electronically controlled, giving the operator the ability to switch on-the-fly between 2WD,4WD and 4WD lock, for ultimate versatility in all different types of driving conditions.

For towing and hauling, the models are equipped with a 2-inch receiver hitch and rugged, steel racks with unlimited tie-down locations. To ensure reliable operation, the battery is located under the seat for protection from mud and debris.

The Alterra 570 is available in Dynamic Gray, and the electronic power steering (EPS) version is available in Dynamic Charcoal and TrueTimber® Kanati Camo. The Alterra 570 XT is available in Fire Red and features EL4 and aluminum wheels. These models are sold with a one-year warranty.

Alterra 700
For increased performance and reduced weight, the 2019 Alterra 700 vehicle lineup now boasts an updated Textron Motors 700 engine that is 1.7 inches narrower and 12.4 pounds lighter than previous models, so the vehicles can accelerate harder, stop faster, corner better, land smoother, and climb quicker. This was accomplished by reducing the engine’s rotational mass by 30 percent. The reduced rotational mass provides a better throttle response and a faster-revving engine for quicker acceleration. The addition of a new camshaft grind also improves throttle response and stability and emissions while idling and provides increased low/mid-range torque for better overall performance. A newly designed, patented CVT cover not only reduces weight, but improves drive belt cooling and provides less heat and sound transfer for a more comfortable rider experience.

To get the engine’s power to the ground more efficiently, the Alterra 700 vehicle lineup has a new direct-driven clutch with improved clutch calibration for faster back shifting on acceleration. With no wet clutch friction materials to contaminate engine oil, the new driveline not only offers better performance, but more durability.

The Textron Motors 700 engine is available in the Alterra 700, 700 XT and new Alterra 700 EPS. For 2019, the Alterra 700 is offered in Dynamic Gray; the Alterra 700 XT in Fire Red, and the new 700 EPS in Earth Blue and TrueTimber Kanati Camo.

Further rounding out Textron Off Road’s ATV line in the 700 class is the reimagined Alterra TRV 700. Designed and tested for tandem riding, the new, two-person Alterra TRV 700 has an extended frame, longer wheel base and heavy-duty sway bar, so it can comfortably accommodate two people. Hand holds in four unique locations ensure passenger stability and confidence in different riding situations. For added versatility, the vehicle features a quickly removable seat and optional dump box. Whether carrying a passenger or hauling extra cargo, the Alterra TRV 700’s standard EPS ensures easy maneuverability. The Alterra TRV 700 is available in Fire Red with aluminum wheels.

In addition to the Alterra 570 and 700 models detailed above, the Textron Off Road Alterra 300, 700, 700 XT, MudPro 700 LTD and TBX 700 models continue to be available. Youth vehicles include the Alterra 90, Alterra DVX 90 and Alterra 150. All models have been refreshed with new graphics packages.

Textron Off Road Alterra 570 and 700 ATVs are built in Thief River Falls, Minn., and 2019 models will arrive in dealerships throughout the fall.
