Press Release –

BRP had a huge weekend for its Can AmTM X-Team racers. Racers aboard Can-Am OutlanderTM ATVs took podium spots at both the John Penton Grand National Cross Country (GNCC) race in Ohio and the second round of the World Powersports Association’s (WPSA) ATV Tour in Illinois.

“This was a great weekend for our racers and it showed the outright performance of the Outlander line of ATVs,” said Bernard Guy, ATV marketing director, BRP. “Both the GNCC and WPSA series test both racer and machine, and our performance at both events is a testament to not only our racers and ATVs, but everyone’s hard work for the race effort.”

The WPSA season may be just two rounds old, but the competition is getting quite fierce in the QuadTerrain Challenge Pro Stock class. Riding Can-Am Outlander 650 H.O. EFIs, both Scott Kilby and Adam Vaughn of Team Warnert Racing/Can-Am took the top two spots in the final.

At Round 6 of the GNCC racer series at the famed John Penton in Millfield, Ohio, Team Warnert Racing/Can-Am absolutely dominated the race course. In the competitive 4×4 Open class, Can-Am Outlander 800s swept the podium with Warnert’s Rick Cecco taking top honors. Behind him were Bryan Buckhannon and Warnert’s Jacob Kirst rounding out the podium sweep. The three racers were the only ones in the class to complete five laps of the course.

In the 4×4 Limited class, Warnert’s Michael Swift, aboard his Outlander 800, took second. The 4×4 Lites class saw Warnert Racing’s Cliffton Beasley pilot an Outlander 500 to the class win while Jeremy Dudding rode his Outlander 500 to a third-place finish.

The next race in the GNCC series is the Spartan GNCC near Sparta, Ky. on June 9. The next WPSA event is in Stillwater, Okla., June 1-3.
