Team Motoworks / Can-Am now has two Pro-class overall wins in the past three rounds of the AMA ATV Motocross National series after Chad Wienen raced his Can-Am DS 450 ATV to a win at Red Bud near Buchanan, MI this past weekend.

This is the first overall win of the year for Wienen and his first on the Can-Am DS 450. In all, there were four Can-Am DS 450 ATVs in the top 10 Pro-class finishing spots.

“Chad went into the weekend with confidence in himself and his Can-Am machine, as he went out and had fun racing on one of his favorite tracks on the circuit,” says Jimmie O’Dell, Racing Manager for Can-Am ATVs at BRP. “The entire team worked extremely hard all weekend to put him in the position for this win. Everyone at BRP is very proud of him and it’s exciting to see Chad earn his first national win on the DS 450.”

Wienen set the pace early on when he pulled the fastest qualifying time during Saturday’s final practice session and earned the fast qualifier award on Sunday morning.

In the first moto, he was fifth out of the holeshot and quickly passed his way to third, but ran out of time to advance farther in the moto. In the second moto, however, he quickly passed for the lead and pulled the fastest lap of anyone during the weekend.

“Red Bud is my favourite track so I came out here to have fun and I am really excited to take the win. It’s a really great accomplishment and I am glad to be able to give it my best. I have to thank all my sponsors, including Can-Am and Motoworks for helping me make it happen,” said Wienen. “I felt really good at qualifiers and my quad was running great. I was pretty happy about getting the fastest time.”

In the amateur classes, Cole Henry, swept the Production A races on his Can-Am DS 450 going 1-1 for the weekend overall in the class. This gives him the Production A class championship for the year with one round still left to go in the season.

“It probably won’t sink in until later on, but I wrapped up the Production A Championship with this win today, so I am really stoked about that.” Said Cole Henry “I’ve been working hard all season and it has finally paid off.”

The final round in the AMA ATV Motocross Championship will be August 14-15 at Loretta Lynn’s near Hurricane Mills, TN. For more information on Can-Am racing, the entire 2010 schedule, the 2010 contingency program and DS 450 amateur racer support program, please visit www.can-amxteam.com.
