Press Release –
For the presidential elections, the verdict is unclear. In the GNCC ATV series, however, the results are in: It’s Maxxis in a landslide.
With Chris Borich nailing the victory in the opening round and eight other Maxxis riders hot on his heels, Maxxis took nine of the overall top ten spots at the GNCC Triton. The race was held March 2 in Morgantown, West Virginia.
“I got a mid-pack start, not the greatest, but the Yoshimura motor just pulled through. I caught up to these guys. I knew Bill (Ballance) was out front, so I pushed to get up there and get the lead. Then I just tried to check out,” Borich told gnccracing.com.
The 25-year old Borich is gunning for the GNCC championship after a second place overall finish in 2007.
Bryan Cook took second place with a steady performance – despite a few challenges.
“I didn’t know how my conditioning would be. I was done. My hands were bad. I just had to dig deep. My hands were so torn up I could barely hold on to the bars,” Cook told gnccracing.com.
Ballance took the holeshot, maintaining Maxxis’ record with the 27th straight ITP Holeshot Award for a Maxxis rider. The eight-time champ took the third spot on the podium.
Taylor Kiser took fourth place and Adam McGill nabbed fifth, while Brandon Sommers took sixth. In eighth through tenth places were, in order, Donald Ockerman, Mathew Smiley and Jarrod McClure.
Maxxis congratulates Chris Borich on his victory and thanks all of its sponsored riders for their outstanding performances.
