RZR SCOOPS THREE PRO WINS AT BAJA 1000

0

The Polaris RZR Factory Racing Team captured three Pro UTV class wins in the 52nd SCORE Baja 1000, the prestigious and grueling 800-mile race that caps off the World Desert Championship.

Polaris athletes dominated the UTV races, finishing 1-2-3, and earned the Pro UTV Forced Induction, Pro UTV NA and Pro Stock UTV class titles.

Polaris RZR Factory Driver Mike Cafro debuted the all-new RZR PRO XP, claiming the Pro Stock UTV class, posting a finishing time of 23:22:14.937.

“We raced the Pro Stock UTV class to promote the new PRO XP,” said Cafro. “The car was impressive. This RZR was box stock other than some required race modifications.”

Polaris RZR Factory Drivers claimed four of the top five finishes in the Pro UTV Forced Induction class. Justin Lambert dominated in the desert, finishing at 21:00:42.687 to take first place.

Wayne Matlock crossed the line in second, 29 minutes after Lambert, to earn the overall Pro Turbo UTV Championship. RZR Factory Drivers Wes Miller and Brandon Schueler rounded out the top five, posting finishing times of 22:54:56.038 and 23:23:17.956, respectively.

Kristen Matlock added another victory to her 2019 race season as she won the Pro UTV NA class with a 21:55:40.859 finishing time, driving the entire race herself. Kaden Wells followed suit, crossing the finish line in second place and claiming the overall Pro UTV NA Championship title.

“Our team fought for the lead until the battle was over, settling for second place in the race but still winning the Championship,” said Wells. “We sang ‘We Are the Champions’ a lot last night!”

“The perseverance and determination of the Polaris RZR Factory Team continues to drive massive successes in some of the most rugged races on the planet,” said Kyle Duea, vice president of Off-Road Vehicle Marketing, Polaris. “At Baja, the team put an exclamation point on another dominating year for the RZR Factory Team. We’re incredibly excited to celebrate another big year of wins and podiums and cannot wait for the team to keep the success going in 2020.”

Polaris RZR Factory Racing will be back in action at the Nitto King of The Hammers in Johnson Valley, California, January 31 – February 9, 2020.

POLARIS RZR FACTORY RACING SWEEPS MULTIPLE PODIUMS

0

Polaris RZR® Factory Racing captured three race wins and back-to-back podium sweeps in the final double-race weekend of the WORCS race series in Primm, Nevada. In addition to three wins and five podiums across two competition classes, RZR Sponsored Athlete Corbin Leaverton secured the WORCS SXS Pro Stock season championship.

In two days of racing in the SXS Pro Stock class, RZR Factory Racers filled the steps of the podium each day. RZR Factory Drivers Myles Cheek and Ronnie Anderson and RZR Sponsored Athlete David Haagsma finished 1-2-3 in Round 8 on

Friday, while newly crowned champion Leaverton, Haagsma and Cheek crossed the line in succession in Round 9 on Saturday.
Both Haagsma and Leaverton improved throughout the weekend, moving up one spot and three spots, respectively, from Friday to Saturday. Nine Polaris RZR’s finished among the top 10 in Pro Stock, demonstrating RZR’s superior performance amongst the competitors.

Leaverton’s winning weekend secured his dominance in the WORCS series as he took home the Pro Stock Class Championship, 43-points ahead of second-place finisher RZR Factory Driver Beau Baron. RZR Sponsored Athlete Matt Hancock finished the season ranked third, followed by RZR Factory Driver Cody Bradbury and Haagsma in fourth- and fifth-place, respectively. Leaverton rounded out the year with four wins and only one finish outside the top five in the WORCS series.

“The Polaris RZR Factory Racing team has been relentless this season, delivering one success after another, and they finished the WORCS season in dominating fashion, scoring multiple race wins, podium finishes and a class championship,” said Kyle Duea, vice president of Off-Road Vehicle Marketing, Polaris. “We congratulate all of the RZR racers, and we are looking forward to even more success in 2020.”

Several Polaris drivers pulled double duty over the weekend, and throughout the season, and brought home multiple class wins – both Anderson and Haagsma amongst them. In the SXS Pro class, Polaris’ own Anderson took home first place in Round 8, while his brother RJ Anderson, finished second in Round 9. Haagsma narrowly missed the SXS Pro podium, taking fourth place in Saturday’s Round 9.

Pro Stock Champion Leaverton said, “It feels so good to wrap up my first WORCS Pro Stock Championship and to top it off with a win here in Primm. Between my family, sponsors and myself, a lot of time and effort goes into this stuff, but this is what makes it all worth it. Thank you, Polaris RZR, for providing us with the best SXS on the market. My RS1 was flawless all year, and we couldn’t have done it without you!”

Polaris RZR Factory Racing will look to continue its winning ways November 19 at the final race of the off-road season, the SCORE International Baja 1000 in Ensenada, Baja California, Mexico.

Can-Am Grabs 2019 WORCS SXS Pro Class Championship

0

Can-Am factory pilot Cody Miller won the 2019 World Off Road Championship Series (WORCS) SxS Pro class championship after scoring enough season points and wins to triumph in a head-to-head tiebreaker against his own brother and teammate Hunter Miller.

“Days like today make it all worthwhile,” said Cody. “It was a long season with plenty of travel for us, but we couldn’t be prouder of our year earning first and second overall. We raced our hearts out and ended up in an overall tie for the year, which implies we are both very talented drivers and that we had our Maverick X3 cars dialed in. I’m thrilled to win another championship for our family and for Can-Am.”

The siblings, from Greenville, Texas, have competed against each other for years in on ATVs and in side-by-side vehicles locally and nationally, often challenging one another for victory. In fact, Hunter edged Cody for the 2018 Grand National Cross Country XC1 UTV title a year ago and was hoping to the do the same in their first full season of WORCS racing.

Cody held a slight points advantage over Hunter heading into the WORCS SxS World Finals, a double-race weekend, in Primm, Nev. Much like their 2018 GNCC season, the 2019 WORCS championship chase went down to the final checkered flag (and then some). Hunter edged Cody at round eight Saturday and again at round nine on Sunday, going 2-1 in the SxS Pro motos to earn 163 points on the year and giving himself a shot at the title.

Cody, with 13-3 finishes on the weekend, also earned a total of 163 points on the year. However, due to Cody’s number of total wins, he was rewarded with the championship and Hunter had to settle for the runner-up spot.

“I won the battle, but Cody won the war,” said Hunter. “I did what I needed to do in the final round and that was get the win. However, Cody made the pass for third on the final lap, which created a mathematical tie for us in championship points. Unfortunately for me, I didn’t have as many wins on the year as Cody. It’s never fun to finish second, but I left it all on the track and have no regrets. I’m happy for our family, Cody, Can-Am, our sponsors and crew. Now we shift our focus to the 2020 King of the Hammers race.”

The Miller brothers were joined on the WORCS SxS Pro class season podium by fellow Can-Am Maverick X3 racer Beau Judge. Judge, who earned his first career win at round seven in October, secured his third podium of the year at round eight Saturday and paired it with a top-five finish Sunday to earn third overall in the class.

“This was a great WORCS season for the Millers and for Can-Am,” said Jeff Leclerc, Manager, Racing Department. “We achieved our objective of winning the 2019 championship, but in doing so, we also swept the season podium, and proved that the Can-Am Maverick X3 is the predominant vehicle for off-road racers and skilled drivers who demand the very best.”

CARDO PACKTALK BOLD

0

Long gone are the days of static-interrupted in-helmet communication radios. Not long ago, Cardo’s PACKTALK in-helmet communication radio hit the motorsports scene and was quickly recognized as the world’s first natural voice-command operated communications system and most user-friendly in-helmet radios available today.

Since that time, Cardo has improved the already superior product with cold weather performance and waterproofing in its new PACKTALK BOLD radios.

Unlike Bluetooth communications, PACKTALK BOLD uses Cardo’s Dynamic Mesh Communication technology to create an extremely sophisticated and dynamic in-helmet communication system.

Dynamic Mesh Communication allows groups of riders to seamlessly join, leave or change positions at a distance of up to five miles without interruption in communications while the self-adjusting network automatically works to keep the riding group connected. It’s impressive technology, to say the least.

ADDITIONAL FEATURES:

Natural Voice Operation:

Keep your eyes ahead and focus on the trails. Just say, “Hey Cardo” and tell it what you want, it will do the rest.

JBL Sound:

The JBL-Cardo partnership combines Cardo’s passion for the ride with JBL’s passion for sound. Specially designed to work inside a helmet while riding, this JBL audio system delivers crystal-clear audio – whether communicating with a fellow rider or listening to music.

Phone:

Make your off-road vehicle your office for the day by easily (and clearly) taking calls on your PACKTALK.

Private Chat:

If you get tired of being connected with the entire group, simply switch to private chat and talk with one other person of your choice. You can even listen to the radio or your own music if you choose.

Long-Lasting Battery:

You’ll get up to 13 hours of talk time and if you ever need to charge during your ride, you can easily do so by plugging into your 12V adaptor while you ride, if your machine has one.
