LS2 SUBVERTER HELMET

0

Admit it. Deep down inside we all want to look cool out on the trail. Some people spare no expense in chasing their desire for a Hollywood star status. Rather than letting your head get too big from an over inflated ego you should protect it with stylish helmet from LS2.

LS2 manufactures a full line of high-quality helmets that not only deliver big on style they also deliver a big bang for your buck. Priced around $200USD / $300 CAD the Subverter MX470 competes at the entry level price point but comes equipped with features found on some of the most expensive helmets on the market.

Constructed from Kenetic Polymer Alloy (KPA) the helmet shell offers just the right blend of rigidity and flex. Three different shell sizes offer a wide spectrum of fitment from XS to XXL.

Its intermediate oval shape, which is longer from front to back and narrow on sides, also makes for excellent fit. Weighing in at 3lbs 3oz for the small and 3lbs 9oz for the large size is another impressive feature for such a well priced helmet.

Inside the helmet you’ll find a hypoallergenic liner that is removable and washable. To mitigate head injuries the multi-density EPS liner has a polycarbonate coating that allows the liner to easily slip.

This controlled movement reduces injuries for low speed rotational impacts. Should a rider ever be injured, pull-tabs on each of the cheek pads along with a quick release strap makes for easy helmet removal in case of an emergency.

Adding to its impressive impact protection is its high degree of ventilation. The MX470 Subverter has honeycomb constructed ventilation ports which provide a high degree of airflow. Four forward facing large ports in combination with the chin vents funnel a mass amount of air into the helmet.

A series of 14 other vents located on top and the back of the helmet provides additional ported exhaust ventilation. All told, the series of ventilation ports on the MX470 make it one of the most ventilated helmets on the market and a perfect choice if you’re riding in a hot climate or someone that needs that extra degree of venting

Yamaha Motor Corp., USA, announces several Side-by-Side (SxS) and ATV bLU cRU racers are leading the way in the 2019 racing season, including locking in another championship at the Lucas Oil Off-Road Racing Series (LOORRS) at Wild Horse Pass Motorsports Park in Chandler, Arizona, and more podiums at the Grand National Cross Country (GNCC) finale at Ironman Raceway in Crawfordsville, Indiana on October 26.

In SxS racing, bLU cRU driver Robert Stout earned the Lucas Oil Off-Road Racing Series championship in the Production 1000 class with his Magic Dry / Yawpower / Yamaha YXZ1000R, earning the $15,000 bLU cRU racing bonus. Trailing by only four points, bLU cRU racer and two-time Production 1000 champion, Brock Heger, finished second in the series, securing six first place finishes in the season in his BH Motorsports / Yamaha / Weller Racing / Maxxis-backed YXZ1000R.

In September, fellow YXZ racer CJ Greaves captured the Lucas Oil Off-Road Racing Midwest championship Pro Stock class and $15,000 bLU cRU bonus in his Monster Energy / Maxxis / Yamalube / GYTR / Greaves Motorsports / Yamaha YXZ1000R. In the Lucas Oil Regional Off-Road Racing Series (LORORS) in Southern California, Dustin Nelson won the Production 1000 championship and $5,000 bLU cRU championship bonus in his YXZ1000R on September 22 at the San Bernardino County Fairgrounds in California. In the LORORS Arizona series, YXZ1000R racers Dallas Nord and Will Munns lead the pack, separated by only four points as they head into the final round at Wild Horse Pass Motorsports Park on November 16, competing for the $5,000 bLU cRU championship bonus.

With Yamaha as the presenting sponsor of the Pro Stock class in the world-debut Chasing the Triple series by SXS Sports, featuring ice, short course, and cross-country SxS racing, the YXZ1000R was the official pace vehicle for the year, and continued to lead the way in the Pro Stock and Sportsman SxS classes. In Pro Stock, Scott Wasz took the number one plate with his Dirt Syndicates / Yamaha YXZ1000R, followed by Rodney Van Eperen in his Powersports 1 / Yamalube / GYTR / Beyond Redline / Bayland Building / Yamaha YXZ1000R. For the Sportsman class, the podium-proven YXZ1000R was the vehicle of choice by 24 of the 30 racers, additionally taking the top 11 spots.

In ATV racing, reigning GNCC XC1 Pro ATV champion, Walker Fowler earned his fifth-straight title and the $10,000 bLU cRU championship bonus in his WFR / GBC / Fly Racing-backed Yamaha YFZ450R, earning a 79-point lead with nine first place finishes. Fellow YFZ450R racer Brycen Neal rounded out the year in second place overall. Traci Pickens added to her all-time leading women’s ATV racing record with her 12th GNCC WXC championship aboard her GBC Motorsports / Fly Racing / Yamaha YFZ450R, with seven first-place finishes this season. While officially crowned champions at the GNCC finale at Ironman Raceway on October 26, Fowler and Pickens both clinched their respective championships in September. In the GNCC XC2 Pro-Am ATV class, Yamaha’s YFZ450R swept the podium for the year, with John Glauda Jr., Drew Landers, and Jordan Poplaskie finishing first, second, and third respectively.

In support of GNCC’s annual breast cancer awareness and fundraising efforts at the Ironman round in Indiana, Yamaha committed $50 for each Yamaha win, and an additional $50 for each Yamaha championship claimed at the series finale. With 27 Yamaha racers claiming championships and 30 races winning with Yamaha vehicles in the weekend finale, Yamaha donated a total of $2,850 supporting local breast cancer care and research for the Montgomery County Community Foundation, FAITH Alliance Fund.

Yamaha bLU cRU ATV racers, Chad Wienen and Thomas Brown represented Team USA at the 2019 Quadcross of Nations on October 5 and 6 in Schwedt, Germany, where they won their third straight championship for the United States. Wienen and Brown also represented Yamaha earlier this year in the AMA Pro ATV MX series, where they finished the series on the podium in second and third, respectively, riding the Yamaha YFZ450R. Wienen and Brown also took first and second, respectively, in the series’ inaugural Production Stock Premier Class.

Yamaha XT-R – The Way You Want It

0

For the past couple years Yamaha has proudly held its XT-R Challenge event so customers can put their riding competence on display in some seriously outrageous situations while pushing the boundaries of the durability and performance of Yamaha’s off-road vehicles.

Yamaha has always been extremely confident in its quality and these events have provided an ideal platform to put a giant kudos stamp on its #ProvenOffRoad claim to fame.

For MY2020 Yamaha set out to support and tie-in the XT-R message with special editions of the Grizzly, YXZ and X2 and X4 Wolverines. It should be noted, Yamaha didn’t necessarily come up with all of the XT-R features themselves.

The real format for XT-R came from Yamaha customers who have been asking for upgrades such as factory installed winches, specific color schemes and several radical tire/wheel combos, to name a few.

Yamaha added new piggyback KYB shocks for the Wolverine, a special automobile-like mirror and way-cool lighting on the YXZ and other features to further boost the performance and terrain-ability of these XT-R models. You can also order an array of additional Yamaha accessories to further deck out your vehicles.

One XT-R upgrade we’re particularly excited about is the addition of factory-installed WARN winches on all XT-R units. Yamaha die-hards have been asking for winches but the fact Yamaha didn’t just slap on some budget-level, discount brand winch and say; “There, happy now?” is something that speaks volumes about the company’s unwavering commitment to use the very best products to ensure absolute confidence in quality and ultimate durability. The fact is, the WARN brand stands for durability, toughness and quality, so it’s not surprising Yamaha proudly partnered up with this like-minded company.

The XT-R Grizzly features a factory-installed 2,500-pound Pro Vantage winch with steel cable and upgraded contactor. Coming installed straight from the factory means you know the connectors, mounts and installation are done the right way so you can rest assured its ready for work when needed. The YXZ and Wolverines come with a factory-installed 4,500 lb WARN VRX winch with steel cable, upgraded contactor and a new winch-ready front bumper.

The old adage, “ask and you shall receive” describes perfectly what XT-R is really all about. You asked and Yamaha has listened so you can get out there and #RealizeYourAdventure anytime, anywhere.

CAN-AM RACERS CAPTURE TWO MORE CHAMPIONSHIPS

0

Russian Fedor Vorobeyev and American Corry Weller each secured an off-road racing championship in the Can-Am Maverick X3 side-by-side vehicle this past weekend, adding to more titles to the brand’s successful 2019 season.

“We won two more global championships with the Can-Am Maverick X3 in two totally different disciplines, which again speaks to the Maverick X3 side-by-side vehicle’s no-compromise and versatile design,” said Jeff Leclerc, manager Can-Am racing department. “The vehicle gives all racers the potential to compete at every event they enter, but in the hands of talented pilots like Mr. Vorobeyev and Mrs. Weller is where you one can really see the advantages of its precision engineering and its race-winning design.”

Vorobeyev Puts the ‘V’ in Victorious

South Racing Can-Am Team’s Fedor Vorobyev and co-driver Kirill Shubin won Portugal’s Baja Portalegre 500 to capture the 2019 FIA T3 Trophy Championship title. The Russian tandem won every stage this past weekend in their Zavidovo Racing Team Can-Am to reach the finish 23:48.3 ahead of his nearest rival. The win pushed the team’s season points total to 157, which was 47 points ahead of the runner-up.

“This is a great way for the team to end the season with Fedor and Kirill wrapping up the 2019 FIA T3 Baja World Cup,” said a delighted South Racing Can-Am Team’s Scott Abraham. “It has been a great year for Can-Am and the South Racing team, again dominating the event with a 1-2 finish and showing that the Can-Am is the market-leading product in T3 motor sport. A big thanks to all the team for their hard work and dedication.”

The Portuguese duo of Gualter Barros and Gonçalo Maghalães took second place in their South Racing-prepped Maverick X3, joining Vorobyev as the only two teams to complete the course under the seven-hour mark.

Weller Repeats as LOORRS Champion

Corry Weller qualified in the top three Friday to set herself up for a big weekend. The reigning champion earned a podium finish Saturday and then the victory on Sunday at Wild Horse Pass Motorsports Park in her home state of Arizona to earn back-to-back Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series (LOORRS) Production UTV Turbo class championships.

“We did it. We won the LOORRS Prod Turbo UTV Championship again and defended that No. 1 plate. We knew going into this year that defending our championship would be a challenge. Our class is growing in numbers and the level of competition is growing with it,” said Weller, who is also a contender to win the 2019 Lucas Oil Regional AZ Series title. “A huge thanks to Can-Am Off-Road for all of their support over the last two years to help make these championships possible. The Maverick X3 is such a great platform and BRP is such a great company that loves the sport.
