MARIETTA, Ga. – August 29, 2019 – Yamaha Motor Corp., USA, announces several ATV and Side-by-Side (SxS) bLU cRU racers look to clinch championships as many series approach their final rounds and the Grand National Cross Country (GNCC) circuit ramps back up after its summer hiatus. Already wrapping their season up and dominating the top three spots in the AMA ATV Motocross (ATV MX) Production Stock Premier class aboard their podium-proven YFZ450Rs are Chad Wienen, Thomas Brown, and Cody Ford.

Aiming to secure his fifth straight GNCC XC1 Pro ATV title, reigning champ Walker Fowler is gearing up for the second half of the series, where he holds a comfortable 65-point lead with his WFR / GBC / Fly Racing-backed YFZ450R. In the SxS racing series, the Lucas Oil Midwest Short Course League comes to an end this weekend at the World Championship Off-Road Races in Crandon, Wisconsin, where Yamaha bLU cRU SxS racers, CJ Greaves and Brock Heger will compete in the Pro Stock class, while Rod VanEperen will participate in the Pro Mod class in his Powersports 1 / Yamalube / GYTR / Beyond Redline / Bayland Building YXZ1000R. New Roctane XRs are Lighter, More Affordable, Highly Trail-able!

0

CORONA, Calif. (Aug. 27, 2019) – STI revolutionizes the Roctane with the new XR family of tires, giving UTV owners exceptionally light and affordable tires with amazing performance. Based on 9.5-inch wide sizing, the Roctane XR tires use an 8-ply rated carcass and multi-angle tread in five new tire sizes – see the spec chart below.

With the changes they made, STI engineers were able to deliver tires that are 20- to 30-percent lighter than similar-sized Roctane XD tires, and are available at retail prices up to 30-percent lower.

But STI did not sacrifice performance. The updated tread styling and revised carcass combine to produce outstanding traction, a smooth ride, and handling that’s on the money – for less money. Retail prices range from $176 up to 254.

0

YORBA LINDA, Calif. (August 26, 2019) – With a highly flexible two-ply carcass and unique tread, the System 3 SS360 delivers handling precision like no other sand tire. The tread design provides an all- terrain feel on any UTV, with a performance style that carves through corners. It’s the most playful sand tire available for your UTV.

The lightweight SS360 offers flotation second to none, and the tire’s low-rolling resistance helps reduce stress on the vehicle’s belt and driveline.
The 16mm deep tread gives the best combination of cornering and straight-line propulsion for continuous traction in the sand, and transitions smoothly to hardpack when needed. System 3 engineers tested several compounds and tread sets before choosing these to provide the best performance – front and rear – in the sand.

#TeamITP Scores Two Top Finishes at 2020 BITD Vegas To Reno Race

0

FRANKLIN, Tenn., Aug. 26, 2019 – Team ITP racers Derek and Jason Murray captured second place in the UTV Pro Turbo ranks at the 2019 Best In The Desert “Vegas To Reno” race held last week in Nevada.

Fresh from their stellar Baja 500 performance, the Murray brothers came to Reno on a mission: to be among the handful of teams to even finish the race. BITD’s “Vegas to Reno” competition is known as the longest and toughest race in the series; most race teams never make it to the finish line. Fast forward 10 hours — the Murrays not only accomplished their mission, with the team taking second place against all side-by-side classes, they ended up 31st overall even against the cars and race trucks.

The Murray Brothers rode to the podium on ITP’s 32-inch Ultra Cross tires on their turbocharged Can-Am Maverick X3 side-by-side vehicle. The brothers described the race terrain as a challenging mix of rally roads, rocks and giant silt beds.

“505 miles of gnarly, Nevada desert without a single flat!,” texted Jason Murray. “Ultra Cross tires gave us the confidence we needed to push the car hard to a podium finish.“

“It’s a joy to have such a professional team like the Murrays make the podium,” said Rhett Turpin, Director of ITP Sales at The Carlstar Group. “They continue to run and trust ITP’s Ultra Cross tires. Zero flats is a huge statement in desert racing, where any downtime for repairs or tire swaps can cost you the race!”

Their second-place finish had the Murray Brothers beating 50-some other vehicles in their class and roughly more than 110 total side-by-side vehicles to the finish line. The Murray Racing squad was also one of only three SxS teams to crack the sub-10-hour mark during the 500-plus-mile event.

“We are stoked with a second-place finish,” Murray added. “It puts us in a solid spot going into the final race of the year. We are currently sitting second overall behind our teammate and fellow Can-Am racer Phil Blurton. We are pushing hard to finish the season off with a Can-Am sweep.”

Dustin “Battle Axe” Jones also put together a top-five finish for Team ITP, earning fourth place in the UTV Pro Turbo class in his S3 Racing-backed Can-Am.

Two additional ITP racers finished inside the UTV Pro Turbo class top 10 in Nevada, as Cognitio Motorsports’ Justin Lambert took ninth. Mitch Guthrie Jr., the 2019 King of the Hammers UTV class champion, finished 10th.
