IS THE SXS INDUSTRY FOCUSED ON WORK OR PLAY?

What category of side-x-side is the biggest seller these days?

You might think pure sport, high-speed part time utility side-x-sides however it’s the working world UTV that carries the market and is also the least talked about.

Take a closer look at the market and you’ll find most manufacturers have working models in their SXS lines.

The Polaris Ranger has one tough platform and with incredible user-friendly options it seems to be the utility side-x-side to beat. With Polaris and Bobcat now combining to build the Brutus SXS pure working side by side it is even more apparent where buyers are focused.

The 2013 Yamaha Rhino 700 SE is one of the original working UTVs with a new “Tactical Black” version to further diversify its name.

Can-Am’s Commander is sportier and a little less work oriented style. However some other utility and work-weighted brands can be found in John Deere with the Gator line as well as Arctic Cat with the HDX Prowler.

The bottom line is that most consumers seem to buy dual purpose machines leaning in the direction of work and strive to get the job done early on Friday so they can hit the trails on Saturday.
