Press Release –

Going into the final round of the 2006 ATVA ITP/Moose Racing National Motocross Series, Pro racer Joe Byrd had a 15-point lead over second place holder Doug Gust, but knew he would have to finish strong to maintain the lead and win the championship. There was a twist…this would be the first time Joe had ever raced at the Balance Moto X track in Bowling Green, KY.

The weather was misty most of the weekend and the loamy terrain of the race track was groomed to perfection. With the championship on the line, Joe’s quad setup would be critical and he chose the most reliable tire on the market and the one he has counted on for maximum traction all season long…the Kenda Klaw front and rear combination.

The start of the first moto would see Gust racing for the lead and Joe back in ninth. Using the Kenda Klaw combination gave Joe the advantage in and out of the corners & this is where he was able to gain time and finish the moto in third.

The second moto would closely resemble the first. This time Joe would fall in line in sixth place & when the checkered flag dropped, third place would be enough for a 2nd place overall. By a mere six points over second place, the 2006 Pro class championship belongs to Kenda sponsored racer Joe Byrd!
