Question:
Dear Motorhead,
I have been reading Supertrax for over 15 years and just the other day decided to purchase an ATV.
I got a great deal on a Polaris XP 850 Sportsman (2009) and I’m wondering if there have been any issues with this ATV so far, as they are almost all new.
I have heard good things about them, but would trust your opinion. Also, are there any significant changes for 2010??

You have made an excellent choice in a new ATV. Some very early production XP’s were prone to plug fouling but this issue was resolved with tweaks to the ECU.
As well, some early XP’s had wear issues with the rear CV joints – however, we have not seen any more of this.
The 2010’s have some details modifications but if you purchased your XP from a Polaris dealer they will have ensured everything is up to date on your 2009 model.
