Pimp My Honda

Question:

I have a 2004 Honda 350 ES and I’m looking to make the best of my ATV. I’m thinking of putting a Warn 424 2×4 selector switch on and would also like to add some height. What kind of lift kit do you recommend?

I don’t want to alter the performance, but would like to add add about 3 to 4 inches. Would new tires with the factory rims make it a bit wider?

Please help.

Thanks for your email!

Sounds like you’ve got an unlimited budget! The 2X4 selector clutch kit is a good idea for your ATV. Make sure you know what your’e doing before you get into the install yourself as it does require mechanical aptitude.

Hi-Lifter is your source for lift kits. If they have an application for your ATV it will work well and install right. They’re good people who back up what they sell.

The issue of wheels and tires will require you to purchase new rims. If you spend the jing you’re looking at to jack your ride you will need both tires and wheels to take advantage of what you’ve spent your money on. No sense in going 90% of the way there and then back-off at the last 10%.

Tires and wheels will make a huge difference in how you’ll navigate tricky terrain after the lift is installed. The width question you’ve asked is directly related to wheel off-set – not tire size. Again, you need to buy both tires and wheels.

When it’s all said and done you might want to get out your calculator and verify the $$ you will spend doing these mods versus trading in your ride and buying a newer ATV with more features.

Good luck!
