YAMAHA WOLVERINE X4

0

We’ve been biting our tongues for almost a month but today we finally get to share Yamaha’s latest BIG news with you. Drum roll, please…

Yamaha has just introduced a brand new 4-stroke twin, and has put it in an all-new 4-seater Wolverine!

Just the introduction of a completely new Yamaha Wolverine X4 4-seat SxS is big news, but the excitement surrounding the introduction of Yamaha’s new 847cc dual overhead cam 8-valve parallel twin is sure to raise the pulse rate of Yama-fans around the globe.

This 270-degree firing, dry sump engine is built like a tank – forged pistons and rods – and is said to deliver stellar power throughout the whole RPM range.

Mounted into the new X4 chassis with rubber isolating engine mounts and utilizing a geared counter-balancer, this is sure to be one of the smoothest Yamaha off-road engines to date. To top it off, Yamaha has developed its own drive-by-wire throttle system for precise throttle control and engine response.

Here’s what else you need to know about the new Wolverine X4:

• Modified suspension: Self-leveling shocks automatically adjust for changes in vehicle and passenger loads to ensure ideal chassis performance.

• Of course, the Wolverine X4 comes with Yamaha’s proven On-Command 4WD, Ultramatic CVT and speed-sensitive EPS system. The X4 has its own specially designed cooling intake to maintain proper clutch temps. Plus there’s an oversized belt to handle the larger engine’s torque along with Yamaha’s Sprague clutch to maintain constant belt tension.

• Room for four. High-back seats, decent legroom for four adult-sized riders and an adjustable driver’s seat and steering wheel. Back seat is raised for better visibility. Comfortable handholds and 3-point seatbelts for all riders. Storage system is very flexible. You can fold and slide the back seats forward and the bed area expands with the ability to carry up to a 600 lbs. payload and tow up to 2000 lbs. Multiple tiedown points.

• Its compact chassis makes the X4 more agile and handles tight trails easily. Yamaha has designed the X4 to be the most compact 4-passenger SxS on the market.

• Fully enclosed doors and high, wide fenders for protection from trail junk. Full underbody skid plates.

• LED headlights and taillights. Complete LCD digital gauge.

• Speed management system allows owner to limit vehicle speed as low as 25 mph max.

• Ground clearance. An upswept underbody design and wide-arc A-arms provide better departure angles to clear challenging terrain.

• Smooth, quiet powertrain. The unique spiral and helical-cut drivetrain gearing, along with the rubber-mounted and counterbalanced engine has a variety of noise and vibration reducing benefits.

• Assembled in the USA.

ATV Safety Institute Calls on Riders to Be Ambassadors this Holiday

0

IRVINE, Calif., Sept. 1, 2017 – The extended Labor Day weekend beckons many ATV enthusiasts to America’s dunes and trails where they’ll ride out the rest of summer with fun. The best way to get the most out of ATVs is to ensure all riders get trained and follow the ATV Safety Institute’s Eight Golden Rules.

“Exploring the country’s beautiful off-road trails on ATVs is a great way to create some of the best memories with family and friends,” said ASI Vice President Tom Yager. “For new riders, the best first step is to take the ATV Safety Institute’s free online E-Course at atvsafety.org, then take a hands-on ATV RiderCourseSM. The hands-on course goes over everything from how to operate controls to more advanced riding techniques, and there are tips on how to stay safe and how to protect our trails so everyone can enjoy them.”

The free E-Course is also a wonderful tool for seasoned riders to freshen up on their safe-riding habits. The ATV RiderCourseSM is free for anyone who has purchased a new ATV from an ASI member company, and there is no charge for their eligible family members. Other riders can sign up for the course for a small fee.

“Riders of appropriate age and all experience levels can become safer operators by following the ASI’s Eight Golden Rules of ATV Safety,” Yager said. “And they can help be ATV ambassadors by following these important guidelines and encouraging others to do so as well.”

The ASI’s Eight Golden Rules of ATV Safety:

1. Always wear a DOT-compliant helmet, goggles, long sleeves, long pants, over-the-ankle boots, and gloves.
2. Never ride on paved roads except to cross when done safely and permitted by law – another vehicle could hit you. ATVs are designed to be operated off-highway.
3. Never ride under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
4. Never carry a passenger on a single-rider ATV, and no more than one passenger on an ATV specifically designed for two people.
5. Ride an ATV that’s right for your age.
6. Supervise riders younger than 16; ATVs are not toys.
7. Ride only on designated trails and at a safe speed.
8. Take a hands-on ATV RiderCourseSM and the free online E-Course. Visit atvsafety.org or call 800.887.2887.

The All-Terrain Vehicle Safety Institute® develops rider training programs and promotes the safe and responsible use of ATVs. The ASI works to reduce crashes and injuries resulting from improper ATV use. Formed in 1988, the ASI is a not-for-profit division of the Specialty Vehicle Institute of America®. For safety information or to enroll in the ATV RiderCourseSM nearest you, visit atvsafety.org or call (800) 887-2887.

Warn Industries Releases New Powersports Winch for Sport Side x Sides

0

Clackamas, OR (8/25/17) – Warn Industries has released a new winch for the powersports market, specifically aimed at the growing sport side x side segment. The WARN ProVantage 4500-SSD (Synthetic Short Drum) offers 4,500 lbs. (2041 kg) of pulling capacity, specifically designed to meet the needs of a side x side. But this winch has a narrower short-drum configuration to fit the mounting constraints of compact sport side x sides, such as the Polaris RZR.

The 4500-SSD is 1.3″ (3.3 cm) narrower than the regular WARN ProVantage 4500. Some of that space savings comes from the narrower “short drum.” This drum is 3.13″ wide, vs. the standard ProVantage’s 4.85″ drum (7.95 cm vs. 12.3 cm, respectively). However, like the standard ProVantage 4500, this winch features a rugged all-metal gear end housing and powerful permanent magnet motor.

Other features include:

– 50′ of 3/16″ synthetic rope and double-powder-coated hawse fairlead
– Hook, tie rods, and body feature attractive, corrosion-resistant black finish
– Illuminated dash-mounted control switch and corded remote
– Three-stage planetary gear train for smooth, efficient operation
– Ergonomic short-throw clutch handle
– Patented roller disc brake for outstanding control while winching
– Fully sealed motor and drive train to keep the elements out
– Warranty: Limited lifetime, 3 year electrical (North America)

New for this year; Triton expands its line of Tilt trailers which are perfectly suited for hauling ATVs and UTVs up to 12-feet in length. The new series of extruded aluminum light-weight trailers elevates the open deck category and is setting a new bar for quality and workmanship.

Tough moulded plastic fenders are fastened to aluminum frame supports to reduce noise and provide a convenient step. LED market lights are installed with rubber grommets and within the aluminum lip to reduce wear and tear caused by vibration and road debris.
