ITP CRYPTID MUD TIRE

Named after the mythical swamp monster, the Cryptid is built with a bevy of innovative features to help mud-riding enthusiasts conquer the deepest and nastiest muck.

It starts with the Cryptid tire’s proven “chevron” style tread pattern and 6-ply rated carcass for added durability, to deliver unparalleled forward traction. Lug height is graduated, starting at 1.5 inches at center, growing to 2 inches at the tire’s shoulder.

The resulting paddle-like shoulder configuration provides maximum side bite for climbing in and out of the mud without compromising ride comfort on trails and hard pack.

The new tire is available in four sizes, including the massive 36-inch diameter Cryptid version that fits a 17-inch wheel.

FORT MCMURRAY SUPPORT

BRP (TSX:DOO), in solidarity with its Fort McMurray dealer Raven Motorsports, provided a $20,000 donation to the Wood Buffalo Community Food Bank that is struggling to answer the demand as families and individuals return to their devastated communities. BRP’s donation supplements Raven’s own contribution of $10,000.

The forest fire in early May has destroyed approximately 2,400 buildings and forced the evacuation of more than 80,000 residents. The Wood Buffalo Food Bank provides programs to ensure food security for all citizens. With residents returning to Fort McMurray since early June, some to homes that have been completely destroyed, the organisation has seen a fivefold increase in demand.

“We have been in regular contact with our local dealer, and we understand that the crying need is in re-entry efforts,” said Bernard Guy, BRP’s vice-president and regional general manager, North America. “BRP is committed to supporting its local communities. Our thoughts are with the first responders, volunteers, business and community leaders and all residents as they rebuild their communities.”

“This event has not only impacted the local population, it has brought significant change to Alberta,” said Richard Balan, president, RTA (Raven Truck Accessories) Holdings. “We are very proud of how our organization, vendors and partners have pulled together with the entire province to assist with the rebuilding and to help those in need.”

“Our commitment to Fort McMurray and our desire to contribute helps our family continue to deal with this challenging experience, as we work to re-open our business,” said Sandy and Jason Glasbergen, Local Owner Operators, Raven Motorsports.

New STI Chicane RX ATV Tires

The Chicane RX tire lineup from STI Tire & Wheel expands again, this time with 26-inch and 27-inch sizes for ATVs and small UTVs.

STI developed these new sizes to meet consumer demand for a dual-sport radial tire that will deliver the ultimate combination of steering and traction performance, just like the larger Chicane tires do for owners of high-performance UTVs.

Featuring a unique split-knob non-directional tread design, the STI Chicane RX line is DOT marked and ready to hit the road for powerful performance and high-mileage value. The design’s 8-ply carcass offers the perfect mix of durability, light weight, and smooth ride flexibility.

The tire’s high-performance features including a deep rim guard and a reinforced bead/lower sidewall that allows lower PSI operation. The result is maximum tire performance and durability over a variety of terrain, without the need to run overly high PSI to avoid flats.

The 26/10R-12 Chicane has a suggested retail price of $151.91; and the 27/10R-14 retails for $156.49.

STI Tire & Wheel designs and manufactures tires, wheels and tubes for owners of off-road motorcycles, UTVs and ATVs. Launched in 2010, STI is lead by powersports industry veterans with a deep understanding of the needs of off-road enthusiasts. CAMSO UTV 4S1 TRACK

Camso, formerly Camoplast Solideal, is advancing powersports mobility further by introducing the new Camso UTV 4S1; a track system that allows riders to do more in deep snow, nasty marshes, thick mud, or any other type of terrain.

The Camso UTV 4S1 track system reaches new heights of performance, harnessing technology that brings added durability and sturdiness.

“The Camso UTV 4S1 was specifically engineered for the toughest conditions to push the side-by-side riding experience,” says Bruce Dashnaw, Sales and Marketing Director – Powersports at Camso.

With rubber dampers used for mounting mid-roller wheels, users will experience increased ride comfort, stability and reduced vibration. The enhanced geometry of the solid steel frame adds durability in non-snow terrain, while ensuring faster and easier-than-ever switch from wheels to tracks, and back again.

“Our team designed the Camso UTV 4S1 for ease of use and reliability without sacrificing performance and versatility on any terrain, be it hard, soft, wet, frozen or just plain difficult,” adds Dashnaw. “No other track system can contribute this much to an enthusiast’s side-by-side tracked riding journey,” concludes Dashnaw.

Camso UTV 4S1 product benefits:

The unique features of the new Camso UTV 4S1 allow the track system to reach extended levels of performance in any condition and surpass the needs of side-by-side vehicle owners by ensuring an unmatched ride – and more:

– New mid-roller suspension feature minimizes vibration and increases ride comfort.
– Light-weight solid steal frame design adds durability, easily sheds snow, mud and debris, and offers better weight distribution.
– Sturdier and more adjustable tensioner prevents critical part misalignment.
– Easier switch between tracks and tires allows side-by-side enthusiasts to go out and free themselves from the road as quickly as possible.

The new Camso UTV 4S1 is now available in dealerships.

MBRP PowerTech 4 Exhaust System

We’ve worked with MBRP on a number of project builds and feel their no compromise approach to performance has made them a maverick in aftermarket exhaust systems.

MBRP’s Power Tech 4 exhaust lineup is ever expanding and fits the most popular performance side-x-side applications.

If a sweet sounding and free flowing metallic cadence is what you want then MBRP is where you need to start.

What you’ll also get is system that is 3D modeled to ensure a precision fit and a custom looking system made from Polished T-304 stainless housing and billet aluminum end caps.

But sounds and looks definitely aren’t everything. In most cases, you’ll also shed several pounds of wait and gain impressive numbers in torque and horsepower.

In the end, making noise is one thing, but making a clean throaty exhaust note while also increasing horsepower, torque, and reducing weight, well that’s what few aftermarket exhaust manufacturers can claim.

So make sure when you spend your money on an exhaust upgrade, you put your money where the performance is.

GET A LOAD OF THIS BAD BOY!

The Bad Boy brand has some unique technical pull because the company already offers off-road models that feature both gas and electric power as well as a hybrid SxS, the Ambush, that features both.

The just-released Stampede 900 is a something new for Bad Boy. Exclusively a gas powered big-inch SxS with no electric driveline features, the Stampede uses a dry sump, 846cc, 80-hp liquid- cooled EFI parallel twin connected to a CVT.

Generating 59-ft-lbs of torque, this engine represents substantial power for a new offering in the SxS biz and opens the door for much more than just utility use.

The Stampede uses selectable 4-wheel drive and has locking front and rear diffs. Suspension duties are handled by double A-arms at all four corners and front and rear sway bars. There’s 11.25-inches of ground clearance and EPS is available but optional.

Inside, there’s a 3-person bench seat, a tilt steering wheel and full doors reaching up high, protecting the driver and passengers’ shoulders. One unique feature is the Stampede’s digital dash screen. This big 5.25 x 3.25, center-mounted display toggles up all the info you’ll need and is a classy upgrade users will love and undoubtedly compare to the competition.

To cover work duties, the Stampede’s bed offers 24 cubic feet of cargo space, an extended cab with extra storage behind the driver, 2000-lbs of towing and 600-lbs in the box. Bad Boy offers its Fast-N-Latch cargo securing system with 70 special work-specific attachments for hauling cargo while keeping everything securely fastened down – a nice feature and one we’re frankly surprised to see so fully developed on a new vehicle.

Standing back and admiring the Stampede, we’ve got to admit this is a fully evolved vehicle that has plenty of sizzle and good looks. Build quality is excellent and its styling is both modern and very appealing. Maybe the best thing for a new brand entering the market, the Stampede is backed by a very large company with big resources to keep buyers happy over long periods of ownership.

We’ll be testing the Stampede as soon as we can get our hands on one and will keep you up-to-date on more developments.
