Dirt Trax Impression Hat

0

The Impression hat is an exercise in style all its own. Featuring the “DT” branding off-centered in a metallic-with-black-trim embroidered pattern, you’ll be the envy of all your buds that watch the show or own an ATV.

The Impression fitted hat is made from 98% brushed cotton and 2% spandex and is available in small/medium or large/XL so it’ll fit your noggin comfortably without feeling too snug or so loose that it slides down over your ears.

You’ve seen the whole crew sporting these lids in the most recent episodes of Dirt Trax this season and the response from our viewers indicates these won’t stay in stock for very long. Be one of the lucky ones to own your very own.

Borich Claims Victory at Unadilla AMA/GNCC

0

Chris Borich proved that he is still in top form after the 10-week break in the season as he piloted his 2010 Suzuki QuadRacer R450 to victory on Saturday at the Unadilla round of the 2010 AMA/GNCC series.

Saturday’s victory marks his eighth win of the season, and extends his championship points lead to 44.

Borich got off to a solid start aboard his QuadRacer R450, and stayed near the front of the pack for much of the race.

Borich bided his time, putting constant pressure on the leaders and waiting for the perfect opportunity to strike. That opportunity came on the final lap, when the race leader made a mistake that Borich capitalized on to take the lead. Once out in front, Borich poured on the power of his QuadRacer R450 to extend his lead and take the win.

Borich is now the owner of a 44-point advantage in the race for the 2010 championship title, a lead that is made even more significant by the fact that there are only 3 races left on the 2010 GNCC schedule. With so few races remaining, Chris is in an excellent position to take the championship title once again.

The next round of AMA/GNCC racing action will take place September 25-26 in Layfayette, Tennessee. Expect Borich to be there and ready to take the win aboard his Suzuki QuadRacer R450.

3rd Annual Paul Commodore ATV Poker Run for Cancer

0

Vanridge ATV Tours & Trails hosted its 3rd Annual ATV Poker Run to raise funds for the renovation project at the Kingston Regional Cancer Centre on September 4, 2010.

Roger and Gloria Van Dusen, owners and operators of Vanridge Trails were very pleased with the turnout of ATV enthusiasts from Eastern Ontario, Quebec and New York State.

A nice rain the night before made for a dust free trail system and the Mud Group certainly appreciated the little extra water on the trails to keep their ATVs so “clean and shiny”. A cool breeze kept the bugs away and the humidity of the past few weeks was gone, making it a tremendous day for riding.

Paul Commodore was taken from us with Pancreatic Cancer in April 2009. What a lost to his family and friends. Paul was the guy that every ATVer wanted to ride with – always the first one off his ATV to give someone a hand in a breakdown, or the first one with his winch or strap out in a mud hole.

If you ever needed anything out on the trail, Paul seemed to always have it in or on his bike. A smile and a laugh would always make the situation better. Paul’s favourite saying, no matter how silly the situation was, “It Had to Be Done” – even when it didn’t. Paul’s family and coworkers volunteer for the day as well with our BBQ and Registration.

Event winners were:

Best Poker Hand – ($150) won by Sandy Sayeau of Brockville
50/50 Draw – ($200) won by Charlie Burridge of Gananoque

Other prizes totaling well over $600 were generously donated by many businesses from Ottawa, Kingston and Brockville area. We cannot do this without their generosity.

$3,200 will be presented to the University Hospitals Kingston Foundation (Kingston Regional Cancer Centre Renovation Project) in the very near future.

What a day. We hope to see you all gain next Labour Day Saturday 2011

CRAIG PETERSEN LEAVES ITP/CARLISLE

0

Craig Petersen has left the Carlisle Tire & Wheel Company and its subsidiary Industrial Tire Products (ITP) to pursue new business opportunities.

Petersen had been with ITP/Carlisle since 1986, most recently serving as Director, Sales & Marketing for the Powersports segment, from ITP’s office in Ontario, California.

In his 24 years with the company, Petersen was instrumental in product development, branding, marketing and sales of numerous award- and race-winning ATV tire and wheel models. Petersen is now applying that experience and expertise in new areas within the powersports industry.

“I sincerely enjoyed my time at ITP, watching it grow into an industry leader,” said Petersen. “Much of the credit for that success goes to the many distributors, dealers, industry leaders and enthusiasts I had the pleasure of working with at ITP. That growth would not have been possible without their support. I’ll miss the day-to-day interaction with my colleagues at ITP and Carlisle, but I look forward to building even more personal and business relationships while focusing on fresh challenges.”

Petersen can be reached by phone at (909) 239-4261, or via email: craig.petersen714@yahoo.com

BRIMSTONE: They Really Get It Here!

0

The first time we saw the picturesque Brimstone Recreation area and met the charming people who look after it, was a couple of years back when attending a Yamaha Rhino intro. I remember thinking: “This place really gets it!”.

Many riding destinations claiming to be ATV friendly and wanting you to visit with wallet in hand, however, there’s precious few that can deliver the entire package – majestic scenery, superb trails, top notch accommodations, rentals, signs and tight infrastructure, all in one place.

Delivery on high expectations is something Brimstone produces in abundance and, when we tell you this is a must-see destination, we mean it.

Located in the Cumberland Mountains in the heart of the Appalachians, Brimstone can easily be found steps away from the northeastern Tennessee town of Huntsville in Scott County. Brimstone’s 20,000 acres offer ATV enthusiasts 300 miles of off-highway vehicle trails as well as excellent fishing, hunting and other outdoor activities.

The 70-plus trails are color coded from easy (green), moderate (blue) to the most difficult (red) trails. Most importantly, though, you can ride here and experience everything good about the ATV lifestyle.

The ultimate outdoor experience is evident from the moment you arrive at Brimstone as you receive a warm welcome from Mark Love and his extremely hospitable staff.

They supply everything, including ATV rentals and gear, guided tours on the stomping grounds of legends like Davy Crockett and Daniel Boone, ATV delivery and valet.

They’ll even store your quad for you and have it lubed and fueled so you don’t have to trailer your machine every time you visit.

It’s true what they say about southern hospitality, at least that’s the case here. Mark Love and his crew are some of the finest people you’ll come across and we can say without a doubt, you’ll be well looked after when you ride here.

One of the coolest adventures for you and your family would be to take advantage of Brimstone’s incredible cabins located right across from the Brimstone property.

The Bluffs and Cedar Nook cabins have all the amenities of home and can accommodate the entire family or a small group of friends. They come fully equipped with hardwood floors, high beam ceilings, Direct TV and full kitchens and baths.

If you find they’re already booked, don’t panic. There are several quality hotels nearby waiting to look after you. The on-sight accommodations are worth enquiring about because you’ll probably be tired after a full day of exploring this A-plus trail system.

Brimstone is open 24/7 and you can get all the details at 1-800-BRIMSTONE or online at www.brimstonerecreation.com.

Daily permits are available for $15, weekly for $30 or get one for the entire year for just $60.
