The first time we saw the picturesque Brimstone Recreation area and met the charming people who look after it, was a couple of years back when attending a Yamaha Rhino intro. I remember thinking: “This place really gets it!”.
Many riding destinations claiming to be ATV friendly and wanting you to visit with wallet in hand, however, there’s precious few that can deliver the entire package – majestic scenery, superb trails, top notch accommodations, rentals, signs and tight infrastructure, all in one place.
Delivery on high expectations is something Brimstone produces in abundance and, when we tell you this is a must-see destination, we mean it.
Located in the Cumberland Mountains in the heart of the Appalachians, Brimstone can easily be found steps away from the northeastern Tennessee town of Huntsville in Scott County. Brimstone’s 20,000 acres offer ATV enthusiasts 300 miles of off-highway vehicle trails as well as excellent fishing, hunting and other outdoor activities.
The 70-plus trails are color coded from easy (green), moderate (blue) to the most difficult (red) trails. Most importantly, though, you can ride here and experience everything good about the ATV lifestyle.
The ultimate outdoor experience is evident from the moment you arrive at Brimstone as you receive a warm welcome from Mark Love and his extremely hospitable staff.
They supply everything, including ATV rentals and gear, guided tours on the stomping grounds of legends like Davy Crockett and Daniel Boone, ATV delivery and valet.
They’ll even store your quad for you and have it lubed and fueled so you don’t have to trailer your machine every time you visit.
It’s true what they say about southern hospitality, at least that’s the case here. Mark Love and his crew are some of the finest people you’ll come across and we can say without a doubt, you’ll be well looked after when you ride here.
One of the coolest adventures for you and your family would be to take advantage of Brimstone’s incredible cabins located right across from the Brimstone property.
The Bluffs and Cedar Nook cabins have all the amenities of home and can accommodate the entire family or a small group of friends. They come fully equipped with hardwood floors, high beam ceilings, Direct TV and full kitchens and baths.
If you find they’re already booked, don’t panic. There are several quality hotels nearby waiting to look after you. The on-sight accommodations are worth enquiring about because you’ll probably be tired after a full day of exploring this A-plus trail system.
Brimstone is open 24/7 and you can get all the details at 1-800-BRIMSTONE or online at www.brimstonerecreation.com.
Daily permits are available for $15, weekly for $30 or get one for the entire year for just $60.
