CFMOTO Canada Presents New 2020 Models and Vision

The enchanting site of the Hôtel Sacacomie, in Mauricie, was chosen by the CFMOTO Canada team to host a group of specialized media in order to present the new 2020 models and share CFMOTO’s vision.

Among this year innovations are the CFORCE 1000 and the brand new CFORCE 6000, available in single seater version and “touring” (2 seater), introduced to the Canadian market early this year.

On that occasion, CFMOTO had brought in a fleet of more than 10 different vehicles to the site. It was a unique opportunity for the media in attendance to test drive each vehicle, while at the same time shooting several video clips in the same day.

CFMOTO Canada’s Vision

The media attending the event took the opportunity to discuss with various members of the CFMOTO team, more specifically with Rodolphe Arenales, General Manger, and Vincent Bourque Veilleux, Product Development Manager.

Attending journalists questioned Mr. Arenales about his vision for the company. “We are a fast-growing company and our sales are increasing very rapidly. We are getting ready for a new wave of growth with many new models and an upgraded fleet every year,” he said, mentioning for example the Bluetooth interface already available on the CFORCE 600 2020. “We now have a more retail sales oriented vision which includes improvement of our distribution network and the constant support of our dealers by generating more and more visits at their locations.”

As for Vincent Bourque Veilleux, he took as much time as was needed with each media to properly describe the vehicles and their respective technical specifications, standard equipment and usefulness. Much interest was expressed for the CFORCE 600, the latest addition to the CFMOTO family.

“The CFORCE 600 quickly catches the eye with its all-new design featuring futuristic and innovating lines. In addition to providing outstanding performance and good power, it includes a CV-TECH transmission (100% Canadian) and is very comfortable. In terms of equipment, it’s typical of the CFMOTO brand: always very well-equipped vehicles. The CFORCE 600 comes with a 3000 lbs. winch, turn signal lights, a horn, hand guards and aluminum rims, and is covered by our unique 5-year warranty, the best in the industry,” explained Vincent Veilleux.

An experience to be repeated

CFMOTO Canada expects to repeat this experience in the near future. For the media, it is a great opportunity to maximize their time and generate media content quickly in an exceptional setting.

Also, this friendly context will help building relationships with members of CFMOTO’s management and marketing team.

Can-Am Rules the 2020 King of the Hammers

0

With a statement-making performance, Can-Am racer and rock-crawling rookie Hunter Miller won the 2020 Can-Am UTV King of the Hammers race Sunday in Johnson Valley, Calif. Can-Am drivers Kyle Chaney and Phil Blurton rounded out the podium to complete the historic all-Can-Am podium sweep, and Can-Am drivers took four of the top five spots and eight of the top 10.

“It’s the absolute hardest race I’ve ever done in my entire life,” said Miller. “I’ve been racing for 25 years now, and I’ve never experienced anything like this. Next to the day my wife said ‘yes,’ this is the best day of my life.”

Miller, whose resume includes a GNCC UTV Championship with Can-Am, was solid from the start, earning the second qualifying spot behind his younger brother and eventual ninth-place finisher, Cody Miller. He faced stiff competition from Can-Am teammates Chaney and Blurton, but remained poised under pressure, trusting his Can-Am Maverick X3 X rc Turbo RR and co-driver Chad Hughes to carry him to the finish line.

“I could go fast in the desert because I have an awesome car setup,” said Miller. “My Can-Am X3 was flawless the whole day. We got to the rocks, which were not my strong suit, and Chad Hughes guided me through it – I couldn’t have done it without him.”

Between Miller, Chaney and Blurton, all three Can-Am Maverick X3 racers held the lead at one point during the race, but it was Miller who led when it counted most. Chaney and Miller vied for the lead at one point, but Chaney said he misread the course in the dust, and it set him back. It also gave Miller a sizeable time cushion from which to work.

“We caught up to Hunter in the lakebed and I thought the trail went right behind him. I was in the dust and I went off of a cliff, and it rolled,” said Chaney, who pushed on to the finish after turning his car back over. “I told people I wouldn’t be happy unless I won, but I’m just as excited for Hunter to win, and I’ll take second place any day from what we went through.”

Blurton, who is a multi-time desert-racing champion and has placed in the top 10 at King of the Hammers the previous two years, had another strong showing in his No Limit RD-built Can-Am. His third-place finish was a career best at the race, and it secured the podium sweep for Can-Am.

Can-Am racers took full advantage of the Can-Am Maverick X3 vehicle’s impressive performance and supreme handling to dominate the 2020 event. Nathan Wolff earned fifth place, and recent 2020 Dakar SSV champion Casey Currie was seventh, while Jason Weller was eighth, and Nicholas Turner shortly behind to round out the top ten.

Only 33 of 131 entries completed the 143-mile course that included a 77-mile desert loop with high-speed lakebeds with tight, twisty ridgelines and numerous rock-strewn chutes and nerve-wracking challenges.

Blurton Wins BITD Racing Opener

0

Can-Am factory racer Phil Blurton won the 2020 Best In The Desert (BITD) UTV Turbo class opener in Parker, Ariz., Blurton, a two-time BITD Turbo class champion, kicked off the season with a convincing win behind the wheel of his No Limit RD-prepped turbocharged Can-Am Maverick X3 side-by-side.

Can-Am racer Austin Weiland joined Blurton on the podium to give Can-Am a 1-2 finish to start the year. Can-Am also won the UTV Unlimited (Michael Isom) and UTV Production Turbo Short Course (Beau Judge) events.

Blurton came into the new racing season more determined than ever. One reason is the Californian wanted to make amends for the DNF he suffered to end the season last year, which ended his chase for three straight championships. Another was that the Parker 250 course has never been too kind to him, so a victory was his objective. With a total three-lap time of 04:34:52.895, Blurton won the 2020 BITD opener, setting his 2020 plan into motion.

“We made it, finally. This track has haunted us the last two years,” said Blurton on the BITD podium. “The last race of last-season was pretty much a worse-case scenario. But it made us come back hungrier here and try to go for the triple crown. Hopefully we can get this championship. We’re off to a good start.”

Can-Am driver Austin Weiland, who ended 2019 in fifth place overall, secured the runner-up spot about a minute back of Blurton in his own Maverick X3. His podium run gave Can-Am a solid 1-2 finish in the UTV Turbo class.

Derek and Jason Murray had a great race going and even carried the lead into lap three. However, a mechanical issue forced them to go at a slower pace on the final lap and they had to settle for fifth place.

Mobbin’ Racing Can-Am Maverick X3 pilot Michael Isom won his first event in 2020 to start the defense of his 2019 UTV Unlimited class championship. Can-Am racers actually took the top seven spots in the UTV Unlimited ranks and the also the runner-up finish in the UTV Rally class.

No Limit Rd Can-Am racer Beau Judge, who is the co-pilot for Blurton in UTV Turbo class, began the weekend winning the UTV Production Turbo Short Course class by more than three minutes Friday evening.

The next BITD action for Can-Am racers is the two-day Laughlin Desert Classic, held Feb. 20-23, in Laughlin, Nev.
