Press Release –
Led by legendary champ Bill Ballance, Maxxis’ sponsored riders roared past the competition at Loretta Lynn’s GNCC ATV race, sweeping the top five. The event was held April 22 in Hurricane Mills, Tennessee.
Chris Borich, the other half of what has been dubbed the “Killer B’s” by GNCC fans, took the second place spot, while Chris Jenks nabbed third place. Brent Sturdivant and Duane Johnson rounded out the top five. Maxxis riders also took two other spots in the top ten, with Bryan Baker in eighth place and Matt Smiley in tenth place.
As Ballance told gnccracing.com, the contest was exciting from start to finish: “It was pretty cool out there. Everyone has stepped up this year. You just have to hold it wide open on every lap. It’s intense. All day long I just wanted to get out front. I had the lead, but Chris got by and he was setting a good pace, so I just wanted to stay with him. I’ve been riding and riding and riding, so I wasn’t getting tired, and I was in one heck of a groove.”
Borich expressed similar feelings in comments after the race. “We hooked up and were battling,” he told gnccracing.com. “It was fun out there. I was leading a couple of times. I came in that second lap, and I got a rock jammed in my wheels, I had to get it out of there and they got by me. I got by Chris, and I tried to reel Bill in but I ran out of time.”
Maxxis is proud to sponsor all of these fine riders, and thanks them for proving yet again that champions ride Maxxis.
