Polaris saw some nice finishes at WORCS Round 4, held April 18-20, 2008, in Auburn, Wash.

Angela Butler had another nice win in the Women’s A class with her Outlaw 450 MXR.

Butler is standing strong, leading the Women’s A class for the series.

Side-by-side racing newcomer, Mark Holz steered his RANGER RZR to the win in the Rhino Mod class by beating 11 side-by-sides.

This was Holz first race in the RANGER RZR.

Chris Borich loves Loretta Lynn’s and proved it this weekend by powering his Suzuki QuadRacer R450 to a second place podium finish.

The placing was hard-earned, featuring lots of close racing on the very technical track.

Borich overcame a starting miscue and made it all the way up to second; passing countless riders on his way to the front. A great ride for the Suzuki racer.

“The Suzuki QuadRacer R450 is just awesome, and worked really well for me on Saturday,” Borich said. “The bike was a real powerhouse – bringing me from a mid-pack start to second place in the first lap.”

Borich has a couple of weeks off until the next round in Millfield, Ohio on May 10th.

Jagged X and their No. 1919, RANGER RZR made an impressive comeback to finish second at Best in the Desert’s, “Terrible 250,” held in Primm, Nevada, on April 19.

With a total of 15 entries, Jagged X’s RANGER RZR, piloted by Brandon Schueler and Blake Van de Loo, started in seventh position.

At the fourth mile of the 90-mile course, the team was trying to pass the sixth place car and the tires on the two vehicles became tangled, causing an altercation that dropped Jagged X’s RANGER RZR near the back of the pack.

The Jagged X/Elka suspension was dialed in for this track and the Polaris quickly started regaining track positions.

By the first pit, the Jagged X RANGER RZR was back in Fifth position and by the second pit, they were running Third.

The No. 1919 actually crossed the finish line first, but due to the staggering starting times, the final results put the team in second place by barely one minute.

The finish put the Jagged X team into first place for season points.

The next race for Jagged X and their RANGER RZR is “The Blue Water Grand Prix,” in Parker, Arizona, on May 17.

The fourth round of the AMA/ATV Moose Racing National Motocross Series saw Team Rockstar / MSR / Suzuki / Yoshimura / Pro Taper’s Dustin Wimmer (#191) on the podium in both motos securing second place overall.

The Center Valley, Pa. native grew his points lead and is looking very good for a possible series title.

Wimmer ran a smart and tactical race on the challenging track. His 2/2 moto scores ended up clinching 2nd overall and a good points harvest.

“In the first moto, I rode steady and didn’t take any chances. It’s a narrow track and hard to pass cleanly on.

My Suzuki QuadRacer was blazingly fast and when I saw a lot of the points contenders struggling, I just brought it home.”

Teammate Doug Gust (#55) wanted to recreate his win of the previous round, but with a 3-7 was only able to hang on to some hard earned points with a 4th overall. “In the second moto I was in last place after a tangle, but my QuadRacer R450 took me all the way up to 7th place at the finish,” Gust said.

“It was a good weekend,” Team Manager Kory Ellis explained. “We were able to get through and hold on to as many points as possible. Dustin is first and Doug is in second in the points chase, so I’m happy with that!”

Other Suzuki ATV MX racing news – Cody Gibson finished first in the Pro Am Unlimited class and second in the Pro Am Production division. Michael Brewster took first in the 4-Stroke A division and second in the 450 A class.

Team Rockstar / MSR / Suzuki / Yoshimura / Pro Taper will race the next ITP/ATV Moose Racing event at Sunset Ridge MX in Walnut, Illinois on May 10-11.

KTM’s Adam McGill maintains his series points lead now five rounds into the ATV GNCC season in spite of the difficult circumstances he encountered at the Loretta Lynn’s event.

McGill and his teammate Taylor Kiser were having a great ride at the Loretta Lynn’s Ranch running in 2nd and 3rd place respectively in the early stages of the two hour event.

However, on the third lap McGill’s bike cut out with an electrical problem which caused him to not finish the event.

Despite his recorded 18th place finish he still holds the point lead that he stacked up during his previous three race wins.

Kiser’s luck outlasted McGill’s as his bike made it to the last lap before suffering from the same issue.

Kiser was able to crawl across the finish in 8th which moves him to 7th in overall series points.

“It’s unfortunate that we had a problem today but I am confident in my team and my bike and know that they will do whatever it takes to fix the problem and ensure that we are ready to race at the next event,” commented Kiser.

It took five rounds, but Yamaha’s Bill Ballance finally charged into victory lane in the Can-Am Grand National Cross Country Series.

The eight-time and defending GNCC Champion won one of the closest GNCC battles in recent memory to snag the Acerbis Loretta Lynn’s GNCC over Rockstar/Yoshimura Suzuki’s Chris Borich and Team Excell Motorsports’ Bryan Cook.

“Right now it’s not even about the championship,” said Ballance after logging possibly the longest burnout ever seen at a GNCC on the podium. “I just need to start getting wins and then we can focus on the championship. It was a great battle today and I’m glad to come out on top of it.”

The incredible battle saw the top seven riders enter the last lap seperated by a total of eight seconds. FRE KTM’s Adam McGill, winner of the previous three GNCC rounds, fought with Ballance on the last lap.

The duo passed each other over and over while Borich began a charge from the back after getting stuck on a hill. But with just a few miles to go, McGill’s machine suddenly quit due to an electrical problem, ending his win streak. His teammate Kiser, running third, ran into the same problem as well.

Ballance then held the lead, but Borich put in one last charge. The finish came down to a classic “Killer B’s” battle, as Borich got to Ballance’s rear wheels but came up short of making a pass.

Cook logged another consistent ride to net his third podium of the season. National Guard’s William Yokley took fourth ahead of ATVRiders.com’s Jarrod McClure, who turned in his best result ever with a fifth.

GT Thunder’ Yamaha’s Brandon Sommers took the ITP Holeshot Award and finished sixth.

McGill was unable to get his machine refired and did not finish the final lap with the leaders. He was credited with 18th in the XC1 class and 103rd overall.

Kiser was able to nurse his machine home eighth in the class. McGill does still hold the GNCC points lead, but Cook has narrowed the gap to 13 points in the XC1 class. Ballance and Borich climbed to third and fourth in the rankings.

In the XC2 Pro-Am division, Joshua Kirkland collected the Rekluse Holeshot Award, but GT Thunder Yamaha’s Don Ockerman was able to get the early lead. Ockerman battled with Kyle Martin and Spencer Dickerson and held on to grab his fourth win of the season.

In the morning race, run under very muddy conditions, Tom Clark Motorsports’ Angel Atwell took the win and the ATVRiders.com Morning Race Overall Win Award.

Lexie Coulter and Jennifer Albright took second and third overall, also racing in the Women’s class. Defending Women’s Class Champion Traci Cecco struggled with front suspension issues, leaving the Women’s class championship battle as tight as ever.

Sam Williams topped the U2 class on a Kawasaki. Can-Am riders won the rest of the utility classes.

Michael Swift won the 4×4 Limited class, Bryan Buckhannon continued his undefeated run in the Open 4×4 class, and Cliffton Beasley also remained undefeated in 4×4 Lites.

The Can-Am Grand National Cross Country Series continues with the Wiseco John Penton GNCC in Millfield, Ohio on May 10 and 11.
